Re: Bridge jumper alerts

I was interested in seeing if the rail could at least finish 4th...trainer claimed her a couple of starts back if she beat one horse he was basically out on her already

Re: Bridge jumper alerts

For those of you experienced race players, how many tracks have put a stop to this over the years? I know otbs try to stop it.

Is the phenomenon getting bigger or has it always been like this?

Re: Bridge jumper alerts

for those so inclined a mandatory payout of HI-5 at hawthorne on saturday ....over 500K will be in pool...20 cent base
I played it big because with about 2 minutes to go, there was only like 140K in the pool. Race starts and somehow now the number is 1.4 million, making it very -EV.

Geez.

Lost a bunch.

Re: Bridge jumper alerts

Assiniboia (Canadian track) now doing what Los Alamitos does. Odds on ML means no show wagering. But they took it a step further. No place wagering either.

It's one of the few tracks that allows show betting in 4 horse fields, but for r2 Wednesday, nothing but win and exacta.

Originally a five horse race, scratched to 4.

2,457,000 BET ON HIM. DEL MAR WILL DO THIS, DID IT TO BAFFERT BEFORE. CHALK BETTORS ARE PUKING!! Bettors emptying their bank accounts to bet on this horse

Re: Bridge jumper alerts

Arrogate can't crack top 3 in a 5 horse race with one of the other jockeys losing his irons (Evin Roman had no control over the horse).

With various outlets refusing to accept show bets, Arrogate only got $1.32 million to show

94% of show pool
94% of place pool
80% of win pool

that race did not go well for me :doh1

"....So I just wrapped up on him and got him home safe.” - Mike Smith
Anyone else see a problem with this. He basically admitted he didn't try his best to get 2nd or 3rd... That to me is the definition of stiffing a horse.

And this with millions bet to place and show on him.

A true stiff job is when the rider has no intent, AT ANY POINT, of winning the race. I'm sure Smith had every intention of winning the race until the field turned for home and he realized it was impossible. I'm sure Mike is much more concerned about the horse for his next race, than those who bet on Arrogate to place or show.

Agree but Mike Smith knows before the race that millions are bet to place and show on his horse. To not try to get 2nd or 3rd just because he can't win is highway robbery.
