Re: Business trip to Costa Rica
Great trip report.
3 questions and then 2 observations with a question.
Would you or are you planning on living there?
Out of all the sharp people you met what was the constant that they all shared?
What kind of work will you be doing? Do you feel youll enjoy it?
Don't bet while on vacation. I know thats easier said than done. I have alot of regrets in this life that I have chosen as do all of us.
I was in Brazil for 13 days with 4 of my closest friends in august of 2014. I was studying college football and betting MLB. I honestly could not tell you if I won or lost while in Rio. I can tell you that I saw a lot of great places, beaches, hiked the jungles however every night 3 or 4 would venture into the nightlife and come home with the craziest (mostly great) stories. They saw this happen, saw this band, club, tried this streetfood, met these girls who did this... I could tell them Tulane was to be faded and were a under only team. I loved Rio but have always felt I saw a entirely amazing place but never experienced the entire culture.
Ive planned on returning to Rio since the moment I left. No notebook will be boarding.
Ive yet to meet a live bettor with just one bet on a game. It feels to me the bankroll requirements to be successful in that area would likely be quadrupled. Ill leave his name to be but a former poster/retired sharp still dabbles occasionally with live betting and he is out for blood with nba totals and the entire art is attempting to find that middle. Tracking pace, possession per shot attempt, turnover ratios, shot selection, d eff. All the while keeping a eye on the flow of game and score.
It seems like a humungous amount of work being applied on EVERY game and it is. This person is liable to have 20 seperate wagers before the end of a 3rd quarter. His risk is 5x what his normal unit is by the end. Now its also impossible for him to lose every bet and of course therell be those times. He has under 225 and over 205 but also the times he has over 199 and under 201.5 etc.
Is it the future for bookmaking because they are banking on the average punter not being dedicated enough to put forth the necessary effort? Or is it the future because its a unconquered market and competitors will be a step behind and not willing to put forth the resources and thought to go through with it?
Trip report from San Juan Del Sur, Nica june 20th on the way. It's my best friends 40th and he owns the resort costa del luca its a party of 30 I believe. Of the 30 is his fiance, 6 of my best friends, his family and 22 strangers to me but whom he has become close with. We have had pho every friday for the last 15 years (when hes in town which is around 8 months a year nowadays) and have traveled the world together.
I told him that I will have to do some research while there and he agreed that was fine as long as I agreed to one night of drinking (i dont drink) and one night of mild hallucinogens (also dont do any drugs) and in return I get a office I can work out of. My trip report might be a tad hazy and a whole lot different than yours!
I started on college football last week in a serious manner (OC and DC hires) I cant give away a ton with the company you keep JK.
You like the big schools anyway
I think NW will be a very boring offense in '18 & Fitz has his biggest challenge since 2012ish.
Clemson will go from 4 NFL DL to a NFL qb and 2 5* and one proven WR and probably the best OL in the ACC. Dabo would kill to have Chad Morris back.
Shop Alabama futures.. they were actually down last yr compared to 15, 16 and have a schedule that Id be shocked to see them ever lay less than 10. Worst case scenario youre holding a +275 with tremendous hedging opportunity as the chances of them not making the final four are about as good as you giving Javy a warning in the next 3 months.
Thanks for the words alot to ponder in this thread.
Buena suerte para ti, Leche
