City detectives are investigating after a man told them he was robbed of at least $9,000 Monday night in the parking garage of the Rivers Casino on the North Side.
The 27-year-old man said he and a friend went to the casino to party, and the friend told him to "bring money," police spokeswoman Diane Richard said.
They walked into the garage about 9:30 p.m., and the man told detectives he was robbed at gunpoint on the second floor.
Police don't know whether the man won the money at the casino or brought it with him, Ms. Richard said.
The victim said the man who robbed him was an acquaintence -- a friend of the friend he was partying with at the casino. Police aren't sure at what point in the night he encountered the acquaintence.
Detectives will likely study footage from several surveillance cameras in the parking garage
