CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Starting in November, construction on the new casino on Broadway Commons will eliminate at least 1,500 parking spaces in downtown Cincinnati.
The construction will affect city and county employees who currently park at the site.
Cincinnati City Councilman Chris Bortz says the city is working on ways to offset the loss and add more spaces in that area.
"It's a significant impact. A significant loss of a large number of parking spaces and that will have a ripple effect through the whole downtown area," said Bortz. "It's an important problem we need to pay a lot of attention to."
The Broadway Commons Casino, one of four approved by the Ohio voters, is slated to open in 2012.
