Had Afleet Ascent won, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer would have matched Doug O'Neill with four wins on the Opening Day program.

I know I’m an east coast guy through and through, so clearly I will be biased. But I don’t see how Del Mar is at all comparable to Saratoga? ‘Toga is like the Mecca of horse racing. The racing is so much better than Del Mar and the atmosphere is unlike anywhere else.

I have the 12 horse in the 8th at Del Mar on my list of horses to watch... I don’t know why he’s on there as I usually don’t watch west coast racing... but it’s probably worth a shot here

A little torn here though, he wanted Catalina Cruiser entered in an ALW race that didn't fill, and entering here was plan B as a condition he wanted didn't look like it was filling anytime soon.
