Saturday, November 16, 2019—338 Clemson -34 -110 (CG Technology)
3:30 pm EST/12:30 pm PST (Time Change—ABC, DirectTV 13)—Clemson (10-0 SU, 7-3 ATS) has quietly done what it has had to do in the milktoast ACC his season and QB Trevor Lawrence (100/1 to win Heisman Trophy,
Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook; opened 3-1) and the Tigers welcome Wake Forest (7-2 SU, 4-4-1 ATS) to Clemson Memorial Stadium (Grass) in Clemson, SC for Senior Day on
Saturday afternoon. Last year RB Travis Etienne (1,214 yards, 13 TDs) and Clemson—ranked #3 in the latest
CFP Rankings—did a number on the Demon Deacons, winning 63-3 at Winston-Salem, NC and easily covering ATS as 20-point Road Chalks.
But alas, that ATS cover was the only time bettors won backing HC Dabo Swinney (82-60-3 ATS) and Clemson in the the L5 meetings (1-4) in this ACC Atlantic Division series and the Tigers are just 1-3 ATS the L4 at Home between the Hedges vs Wake Forest. But Clemson has W6 of its L8 vs the number and the Demon Deacons haven’t cashed away from home, so it’s no wonder this line has gone from -30 to -34½ with Sharps and Joes and Pros and Schmoes all backing the homeboys. Only Gladys in Schenectady is on Wake, according to my source but my source sleeps 17 hours a day and pees in a box full of Sand.
Clemson—which has registered 7 undefeated Regular Seasons—has won its L5 by 31, 35, 52, 45 and 45 points, so with this one at Home on Senior Day and the Orange and Regalia feeling good, Etienne (8.9 ypc) could very well rush for 200 yards and Lawrence (2,303, 23 TD/8 INT) could throw for 350 more and all of the Tigers and their staff will have yet another wonderful memory as the Tiger Band plays the Clemson fight song (Tiger Rag) and the mascot—The Tiger—dances while all involved imagine how much Alcohol they will consume later that night, in the name of Football.
Anyway, I have been fined for using Regalia, Schenectady, pees, milktoast and rag all in the same preview, so I must change my name and face and
ramble on. The margins seem slim in this one and upstart Wake Forest could score 17 meaning that Clemson will have to put up 50 or more to get the butter. The Tigers have scored 45, 45, 59, 59 and 55 their L5, alebit vs worse competition, but the Demon Deacons allowed 62 to Louisville and 36 to VT (last week) in surprise Losses and 35 to Utah St in Week 1 at Home. Clemson (4-2 ATS at Home) should have 7-8 TDs and a FG. This will likely hit 35, so Tigers backers should probably bet them now. Behind a solid Defense, Clemson has allowed 14 points or less its L5 games (14-10-7-14-10).
