Eye on the Markets: Coronavirus Stocks/Investments thread

I still think DKNG has a lot of growth left
They just partnered up with Dish network. IF DKNG keeps making partnerships like they have they will have a built in app with TV networks to make live wagers from the TV while the game is being broadcast

This might have mattered in the past but these days I think it's easier for people to make bets with their smartphone or laptop instead of a remote. Maybe you get some dollar plays or something but most volume is going to go through mobile anyways.

Ok but you second guessed my DKNG recommendation last year when it was at 14. At the moment it’s at 69

I missed out on the sports betting run, I underestimated the stock markets need for proof these would lead to actual profits. Feel free to keep chasing the dream.

draftkings good now.. but how much longer ? I love their software... could be the best looking. I read the Wynn is opening shop up in NYC with a casino & sportsbook... that will be a city that will go nuts when betting gets there.

I love DKNG going forward. They’ve done an excellent job locking a customer base. The average donkey sports bettor doesn’t like to switch books. They become too comfortable with an apps functionality and convenience of not re upping money with another.

DKNG has made a lot of valuable partnerships, most importantly ESPN

Long way until Wynn gets a casino in NYC. First has to get approved and then they have to win the license. Getting in with sports betting might be a lot easier, but they haven't exactly set the world on fire with their sports betting offerings anywhere.

Wynn Resorts, Bally’s Corp. and Las Vegas Sands are all quietly positioning themselves to compete for a New York City-area casino license in anticipation of Albany putting out a request for proposals as soon as next month, sources told The Post.

They way people are fleeing NYC, it may not be as big of a factor as you think.

I have been working on this whole circle jerk for four years, it's been the gift that keeps on giving, got paid a nice fee five different times. And yet nothing ever happens. I'll believe it when they get the doors open. Remember what happened to Amazon? This shit is going to happen here too, every neighborhood group is going to shit themselves and talk about how their neighborhood is not suitable for a casino.

In any case I'm pretty sure I am going to get paid for this boondoggle for at least the next five years.

amazon was an issue of paying the workers above scale... sort of a union rate... once amazon heard that they went somewhere else... amazon has a history of paying workers below warehouse scale.... they wanted something for nothing. NY has the 2nd highest rate in the USA... he wanted to pay them 15 an hour.... politicians told amazon take a hike.

They were building an HQ, not a warehouse. Most workers would have been paid way above warehouse worker scale. I recall the opposition was against bringing in higher paid workers who would over-gentrify the neighborhood and other parts of Queens, making rents and housing prices even more unaffordable.

I don't trust anything the Fed does. Powell is so clueless, as have been his predecessors. They still don't count food and gas in their inflation figures. Most people I know still have to eat.

Discovery Network (DISCA) and VIacom (VIAC) could be good trades. Both are down about 50% in last 2-3 weeks due to the Archegos hedge fund margin call. That wasn't the overall market selling off, at least not initially. I'm sure the algos picked up on the mass liquidation and piled on, but not initially.
