That's funny, OLG treats its provider of sports betting odds like its some state secret.

Thats true I used to know a high ranking person in Lotto Quebec and became decent friends and he would never tell me from where in Vegas they got their lines hahaha

The OLG currently has not less than 480 employees each earning over $100k per year. Total payroll for these people, over $67 million.
Not surprised this self entitled bunch consider themselves above reproach.

100k working in Toronto or the GTA is peanuts. I know a lot of OLG executives, very sharp business minded people for being quasi government workers. As with all workplaces probably some dead weight in there but this is an organization which makes a huge profit for the benefit of the province so you can't just pay minimum wage.

Bill, I’m sorry but we’re not talking about Apple Computers or Amazon here.
The OLG is but a tiny part of a regional government but with no national or global reach.

What they do is facilitate the sale of lottery and scratch tickets through a network of retailers in a capped region similar in size to the state of Pennsylvania.

They’re not a manufacturing business. There is no global supply chain.

There’s no global physical distribution logistics program. It’s a retail cash business.

Think about the scope of their business. Do they need to pay someone $150k to count the number of blueberries in each muffin?

What they do is sell scratch tickets printed by a vendor...scratch tickets Bill.

And manage billions in casino revenue across the province. I doubt you really know everything about OLG. And seriously with all the fraud seen in lottery tickets in Canada over the last 20 years you'd prefer minimum wage employees overseeing this? Good luck with that.

Ontario casinos are either owned or managed by Great Canadian Gaming (GC.TO) or Mohegan Gaming (MGE, Fallsview and Casino Niagara). OLG doesn’t manage these billions in Casino revenue you refer to. They just skim a monthly payment from the operators who handle everything. They’re basically tax collectors. Tough job. Bill, I thought you would know this.

And it’s not surprising that the sale of casinos by OLG to GC.TO in 2018 was so undervalued that Apollo private equity (APO) has since acquired (GC.TO) paying a nice premium on a company that was fortunate to purchase the business from the Ontario government (OLG) at a bargain basement price.

In the meantime OLG continues selling their scratch tickets.

Lol yeah ok. I will just leave it with I have done numerous projects for OLG before and after "privatization". Funny how all these supposedly bargain basement prices led to the managers asking for rent cuts a year or two after they won. They basically overbid and hoped OLG would allow renegotiating the deals after they got rid of the competition.
