It seems impossible to be a high profile professional gambler and not be called "Fraud"

Re: It seems impossible to be a high profile professional gambler and not be called "Fraud"

Wow......what hypocrisy.......what the other site is doing to Fezzik you did to Boston on LVA...

Whatever happened to Boston? He was great radio. A few years ago he said he wanted to go back to New England and teach English to Maine schoolchildren. Maybe he finally did.

I hope not. We don't want our gamblers actually doing something fulfilling.

I remember describing Alan Boston as a "loose cannon" on The Stardust Line radio show.

Alan went on to repeat the term "loose cannon" at least 50 times over the next hour-and-a-half.

To this day, I sometimes hear Alan saying "loose cannon, loose cannon..."

Just like a parrot.

a professional gambler does not sell picks , just gambles for a living. he needs outs all over like locals, offshore, europe, vegas, etc. this game is still mighty illegal in the archaic united states, so who needs one of these guys to be rated out, or have an out taken away. they have families and live in family oriented communities where being known as a professional gambler is a no no. best to be under the radar--unfortunately for me-- many of these guys do ,however, share sharp plays and info with each other,
but not with the public. just bad for business.

Loose cannons, parrots, rum, buggery, and the lash; was Alan in the Navy?

Royalfan likes to post in absolutes which is pretty narrow minded.

That statement could not be further from the truth either. That is certainly something I do not do. It seems you may have been though when you said that part of being a pro is selling picks. That is a blanket very narrow minded statement if I have ever seen one.

You brought it up, NOBODY in America has ever been arrested for wagering sports online(feel free to correct me if wrong).............if this is what you are implying in some senile way, you would be infamous forever in the gambling world.

The WIRE ACT is completely outdated.

the RICO Act or simply RICO, is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization. The RICO Act focuses specifically on racketeering.

JOE BLOW who is simply wagering $4,000 a night on sports through an offshore shop has never been convicted on FEDERAL charges for doing such.......................

That is a bookmaking and loansharking bust, not gambling. Being an agent doesnt make you a gambler.

Exactly........

I'm surprised at the amount of posters that confuse BOOKING and/or being an AGENT with individuals that just place wagers.

BOOKMAKING and/or being an AGENT in this business is highly illegal............

The Government is the biggest accuser of this and it's not even close.

They always say you are bookmaking first .... and a Bettor later when the truth comes out.

Not HIGH PROFILE in any sense, nor do I make nearly half a million a year on average...................but have grinded out a living and then some for many years and never will charge for my insight on anything gambing related.

If anyone is PAYING for picks, they have TWO disadvantages IMMEDIATELY.........

1. PAYING for the service

2. Most times not getting down on the same line as what the TOUT released.

I do believe there are a FEW touts out there that are worth the price for CERTAIN people..................but, and even a guy like EDWARD would agree with this, THESE TYPES OF MARRIAGES BETWEEN TOUT AND CLIENT ARE FAR, FAR, AND FAR BETWEEN in the "tout business".

Overall, it's not something 99.9% should ever get involved with, and that's PAYING FOR PICKS.

Re: It seems impossible to be a high profile professional gambler and not be called "Fraud"

Agree

Been gambling professionally since 1994.................have perhaps more posts than anyone in history on gaming boards combined so although not "high profile", a host of people are aware of who I am(the vast majority of posters have never met me in real life)............but 96.5% not only believe I'm a fraud, 97.4% dislike me and/or are jeolous. Don't overly mind being disliked..........no biggie.

The "ASSUMPTIONS GAME" on forums is one of the most interesting psychological aspects of social networking................it is comical, sad, erie, bewildering, along with a host of other adjectives.
You know what you are doing as far as slot machines and can beat them. The problem is that many times you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about in sports betting especially when it comes to numbers. That's why guys that know what they are doing can't take you serious. You should stick to what you know and not try to bullshit us with sports.

Re: It seems impossible to be a high profile professional gambler and not be called "Fraud"

Fish- I'm saying that you know how to beat Vegas but can't beat offshore.

3% win consistently and i would say .5% make a living of it. He is in the top .5% in the industry no matter how he obtains this which i find amazing. How he beats slots i have no friggin clue but what i can tell you is next time im in vegas dinner is on me and hopefully i can learn a thing or two.

He's detailed what he does countless times.

Find a slot that has a 99.9% pay off or more. Add in comps and it's +EV. There used to be some cherry machines that paid around 100.1% or something as well but I believe they no longer really exist in vegas.

I believe the 2nd way was to play a whole bank of slots feeding into a progressive jackpot which will often reach a point where its +ev and to keep playing until the jackpot hits. It can obviously take a shitload of time and money invested, as well as needing a whole team to do it, but it can pay off huge.

(this is obviously oversimplified but its what I remember of what he has said)

Better than most pros? You are doing well but don't get carried away ED. No one, including you, can talk about who bets what, and how much.

Re: It seems impossible to be a high profile professional gambler and not be called "Fraud"

RAS being able to manipulate lines opens up opportunities that the rest of us don't have.

Re: It seems impossible to be a high profile professional gambler and not be called "Fraud"

This is one of the rare topics where I disagree with Joey. Usually he has a great read on people and is right on the money. This one I can't agree with though. How can someone respect a guy like Timely Hitting for example and not Fishhead? These two are on opposite ends of the spectrum in this industry. Maybe it's personalities or whatever, I know most at Peep's place don't seem to care for Fish either but he's been a proven winner over a susbstantial period of time. I'm not the only one here that could vouch for his success in real life, several people other than myself know him personally and what he has done. In an industry full of frauds he's been grinding out profits for many a year, not many here can say that, certainly not me.

Has some pretty sharp pals too, LOL. I remember walking through Vegas once with Vodoo (not the Vodoo that posts here) and every casino we went through he was under tight scrutiny. The guys in the suits all knew who he was and wanted to know what he was doing, he was only allowed in certain areas. This guy has beaten the pants off Vegas, they made no bones about it, they were only going to allow him to continue to beat them in specific games where they were better protected. Fish and these guys know what the score is when it comes to casino action, you could learn a lot if you wanted to. Carry on.
