Brutal loss, down 16 with under 5 minutes I gave up, they end the game on a 18-2 run capped off by a Herro three with five seconds left to tie it and send the game to OT, they score the first 8 points in OT and I'm thinking they've got this, then Hardaway hits three consecutive three's to give Det a 1 point lead, Herro misses a shot at the buzzer and that's it

They blow a 22 point lead by getting outscored by 30 in the fourth quarter against a team missing all their best players, as embarrassing as it gets, time to blow it up

I wouldn't "blow it up". This is the NBA. Heat almost did it to Pistons twice. When houthis healthy and motivated they are a contender. May have to start with pee in again. Had a chance @ 13-10 and pissed it away.

Dell, I appreciate the faith you have in them, but I don't think you watch any of their games, last week you said their ceiling was the third seed, you have a higher opinion of them than anyone, I don't know if their "big three" are as good as anyone, but their next 4 or five aren't, that's the problem

Taking out their big three, Rozier, Jacquez, Jovic, Highsmith, Larsson, Smith, Love, and Duncan just aren't good enough

That's Truth Social but the Big 3 give them a chance if all 3 are playing at max level. Herro is an All Star. He's playing the role Lizard would have played.

You need to relax, kane. We know they are going into the playoffs an underdog. If they get bounced again 1st round then blow it up. No reason to blow it up now.

Maybe Riley can make a trade to get the right Johnny Bench chemistry.
Chemistry isn't the issue, they have plenty of it, what they lack is another star, unfortunately right now the only one who might be available is the guy in Philly who has a bad knee and can't ever stay healthy

You have forgotten more about NBA than I know but I don't agree they need a 4th star. howid many teams have 4 stars? Maybe Celtics. This is hypothetical but if Herro shot is draining 3's and scoring 30 points, Bam is banging and Jimmy playoffs Jimmy, that's enough. Yes, need others to contribute but there are several capable. Ugly loss but long season.

This type player injury has happened last 2 seasons. The Indiana veteran 1st round of the playoffs 2022 and Josh Richardson regular season 2023.

Mistakes happen. Pussy ref only saw the flop like the bike scene in Heaven Can Wait. Drummond was later unejected. But here's what you do to make sure this this doesn't happen again. You suspend Wamby for 25 games with a warning next time it will be 82 games plus the playoffs which don't count for 82. Done and done. Otherwise, on top of all the other problems the NBA has, it will become like soccer with flops.

Dru Smith was developing into one of those "where do they find these guys" players, solid defensively and becoming a good three point shooter, he's not a big name, but this hurts, he's a similar player to Josh Richardson, but with higher upside, of course J Rich can't stay healthy either

They really miss Caleb Martin, he was great for them, he was a nobody in Charlotte, and the Heat turned him into a really good player, one of the best 6th men in the league, he had one year left on his contract, he had a player option, he chose to opt out thinking he could get a better deal elsewhere than what the Heat offered, he tested the market and he was wrong, the Sixers offered him a contract that wasn't as much as Miami's, but by that time the Heat couldn't give him the deal they initially offered, some sort of weird league rule, so he had no choice but to accept the lesser Philly offer, he gambled on himself and lost, he's yet another example of a guy who played well in Miami and once he left declined, in his three years in Miami he averaged 46% from the field and 37% from three, so far in Philly he's 40% and 30%, happens all the time to these role players, they leave the Heat and their production declines

Caleb Martin insists he's happy with $32M deal with Philadelphia 76ers after turning down $65M in Miami

Caleb Martin spurned a lot of money in Miami. Like, a lot, a lot — millions of dollars left on the table when he rejected the Heat's new contract offer.

So he took a different deal with the Philadelphia 76ers for a chance with a fresh start to chase a championship with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George.

Oh, and he signed his contract with no regrets.

So he says.

Martin turned down a deal that would have paid him about $65 million over the next five seasons to stay in Miami and instead signed a four-year deal guaranteed for more than $32 million with the 76ers.

"Just certain things didn't work," Martin said Tuesday at the Sixers' New Jersey complex. "There was a lot of things behind the scenes that went on. Ultimately, there was a lot in making that decision. There's a lot that contributed to how everything went. But past is past, can't do nothing about that. I'm looking forward to being here and being a part of Philly and trying to bring everything I can in order to try and win a championship. That's my main focus now."
The 28-year-old Martin averaged 8.5 points over five seasons, including the last three with the Heat. It was in Miami where Martin developed a reputation of raising his game.
"I mean, you're always going to wish you can make as much money as you can," Martin said. "It's part of the game, it's part of life. You live and learn. You take risks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."
