JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

DING DING DING

Still haven't seen Mofome or Shrink defend this point.

Instead they are just trying to cite Oddsmaker loophoes and bash the player.
Show me one post where I bashed the player, just one...:pop:

I suspect even Jimmy will tell you that I have always treated him with respect...

On the other hand, how many posts have I been "bashed" simply for making an unpopular decision?

But you won't hear me complaining, lol...:cheers

Have a great evening,

THE SHRINK

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

shrink,

i began betting offshore in the mid 90's? why does this matter. is there a new spin to make me look bad? Let me guess, I am an experienced better so i should know there are rules against forwarding email promos to friends and family??

this is getting funnier by the minute. sorry shrink but i am really frustrated. you seem like a nice guy but i think you are in the wrong here.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Mofome,

along the lines of your honesty claims a few posts back you claimed to try and contact me?? are you lying?? did you leave a voicemail or send an email to me?? I never got anything from you so you are lying.

and no i am not arrogant. I just know i am right and will not go away that easily. It never was about the 8k to me. it was making sure they were exposed for this. and that i think has been accomplished.

I knew i would never get paid. my wife asked me last week after i spoke with ken what i thought and I said im not gonna get paid. I knew that without an unbiased third party i was screwed.

Lying, please. You have more than one PM from me. Again, who do you think I am?

:thumbsup

others have had disputes with oddsmaker and been paid. The fact that you knew you wouldn't be paid speaks volumes. Sometimes its the things you say, Jimmy.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

I noticed you never answered the question as to the YEAR you first begain betting offshore?

Thanks for your time,

THE SHRINK
Why would this matter?

:+clueless

I am not trying to be a smartass, I just don't really see why this matters in this situation.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

mofome,

I dont even know how to look up my pm's? i am sure if you sent me one you can tell if i read it or not. I never read it as i never saw it. I am not a regular poster. i came to these boards for help. you could have emailed me or called me as the shrink has done.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Lying, please. You have more than one PM from me. Again, who do you think I am?

:thumbsup

WHo are u then Mofome????? Numerous times you have said that same thing, WHO DO YOU THINK I AM????? Who are u, we are all wondering, you seem to think ur someone of high ranking or something - One thing I know about u, ur good at clicking funny lil images and posting them, rock on!

Also, pms now? That is how you are saying u have tried to get a hold of Jimmy, earlier I would have thought u meant u called him or something, must have been a misunderstanding, oh wait, I don't think u believe in those.....

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Shrink Kenny, just wondering that if you at all considered or would have considered 50/50.. Each take 50% of the Blame and pay Jimmy $4200 or is that a no chance and zero thing? Thanks, and I know it has to be hard to be the one doing what you do and it is a lose lose situation for you. Thanks, Firehorn.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Bonus abuse may be defined as (but not restricted to) clients cashing out for the purpose of redepositing, or referring new accounts that they are using themselves. Sanctions may be in the form of increased rollover requirements or loss of bonus privileges altogether for the offending account as well as any linked accounts.

I wish they had used this paragraph to punish the player. Even asking him to deposit an amount equal to his winnings and enforcing a rollover on that amount would have been a more creative resolution to the conflict. Certainly, he did not abide by the rules, and Shrink was in a tough spot, no one comes out of this situation whole I'm afraid. A free bonus with no deposit is probably not in anyone's best interest either, I'm afraid.

JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

written June 22, 2009

A player named JIMMYMAC was profiled carefully by Oddsmaker to have met their criteria to receive an extremely generous bonus in the hopes that he would eventually deposit real money with their sports book.

Oddsmaker only sends this offer out to a very limited number of players via email and it is called a VIP BONUS. Specifically, the recipient is offered a 500 dollar FREE PLAY without having to make a deposit. There are no strings attached except to meet a rollover requirement and wait 30 days before cashing out..

THE SHRINK
Oddsmaker was clearly aware that Jimmymac was a legitimate player. Their careful profiling would have easily weeded out a bonus abuser.

Admittedly taken out of context a little, but "no strings attached" seems like a generous way to describe the offer.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Last I knew greed wasn't punishable enough to stop someone from getting paid

And as the dude with the Vitale avatar said, he had a balance already when his Dad tried to make the 2nd account. So Oddsmaker could have closed his account right then or even in restrospect could go back and say the account is closed as of the time stamp of their "farce" bonus abuse.

But no instead they are taking the full 8K. That's where the debate ends to this being a scam.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

I realize that it wasn't a big conspiracy. It was a quick attempt at cheating a book that went wrong. Perhaps if he had made his plan a bit more elaborate, he could have pulled it off.

He got the VIP email because information is not hard to obtain. They knew Jimmy was a large player and someone they figured would lose in the end. Simple, really. Or, do you think it was just by chance, that Jimmy happens to be someone who bets fairly large figures at several books? Maybe they just guessed. Maybe.
i do not see jimmy trying to 'cheat' oddsmaker here...

the solicitation email from oddsmaker...

simply did not contain any specifics... other than the rollover requirement & that it was for new customers only...

i understand it that jimmy's dad was not a customer of oddsmaker...if you or shrink can prove otherwise...then i wish you guys would...

jimmy stated he was a large player, and you confirmed it...

so...i do not see how a nickel free play...which is basically two hundred fifty dollars in cash... as exciting for a guy that probably bets a dime a game...

but...he went around the horn on a hot streak...

& oddsmaker 'invented' some horseshit to stiff this guy on eight dimes here...

joe...

if you have other facts about this case...please reveal 'em...

because if i would have received that email...i would not have had a problem sending it to you...

IF you were not a customer at oddsmaker.

Jimmy,

You also seem like a nice guy..

But, you know good and well that you are a very experienced player who has been involved in this industry longer than almost anyone else who has been posting in this thread...

You also know alot about bonuses.

And furthermore, I am certain you also knew that this particular bonus was not meant for your father, your wife, any of your friends, and not your dog...

You were around for the BetonSports fiasco and you come across as someone who is quite intelligent on the telephone and on the forums...

All that Oddsmaker wanted you to do once you were "caught" abusing their bonus by sending it to your Father was to admit it to them, but you refused to do that at first...

Oddsmaker even assured you they would still honor paying your money out to you..

But instead, you decided to threaten them and post horrible things all over the forums about them thinking this was the best way to go about getting your money...

I suspect if you had to do it over again, you would not have behaved in this fashion...

I suspect had you handled yourself without getting all hot headed and crazy, we would not ever have had this discussion...

Yes well if you had sent it to me, do you think I would have called the one number listed or another number? Do you think once caught I would have lied about who authorized me doing what I did?

Again, its simple.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Mofome,

Yes i knew i would not get paid as i was warned by a lot of people on several boards that i would not get true unbiased help from a site in a case against one of its advertisers.

I could tell it was an uphill battle from the start and it was just my instincts.

Everyone has their own motives but in this case justice was not served. I am not surprised. we are talking about the offshore gambling industry. Its unregulated and filled with shady people. lets face it. I knew the risk i was taking but when someone, anyone messes with me or trys to screw me I am not gonna walk away quietly. I am sure that is what everyone wanted here. My Irish italian blood wont allow me to be a pansy and let oddsmaker and whoever else get away with this bs. I know i will never see the money but you can be assured this had an impact on everyone who sided with the thieves.

Simple enough to address.

Oddsmaker has been in the wrong before.
Ken has gotten them to pay. Ken has ruled against oddsmaker.

Jimmy,

I forgot to ask you a simple question...

Does your Father gamble offshore and if so, at what other sports books does he have an account at?

Thanks,

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Shrink,

You seem like a pretty smart guy and certainly use logic in your decision making.

That being said, you are really defending a legitimate business by arguing that Jimmy's decision to bash Oddsmaker is part of their reason for not paying them?

Honestly if I have a problem with Bank of America and then I go report them to the FDIC that doesn't mean they can come back to me and say "hey you made us look bad" when making a decision on their payout.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

Also, wtf Jimmymac, 500 into 8400, why don't you start sharing those picks of urs ;)
Based on his coments in this thread, he or his dad probably would have lost it back if they gave him time. No offense to Jimmy, but he stated that he deposits 8k a weekend with Sportsbook.com, so Oddsmaker maybe could have recouped the money and saved themselves a pretty big customer.

Wow Shrink, gg credibility - So, ur saying Jimmy should have just admitted that he was trying to bonus abuse, and that way he would have got paid? But, Jimmy has stated NUMEROUS times that he did NOT think he was doing ANYTHING wrong, so why should he admit that he was????? You are basically saying, Jimmy lie to them and tell them you were trying to abuse the bonus, and they will pay you - How the hell are u trying to come out as credible here Shrink? You just openly told Jimmy he should have lied, some people have dignity and will stick by what they believe no matter what the consquences are, this just shows how it wasn't really all about the money for Jimmy, but it was also about doing what was RIGHT!!!!

Like I posted earlier, companies typically want their name out there, people offer bonuses all over and they would want their clients to tell their friends, that is all Jimmy was doing here, twist it all you want, but it really doesn't matter bc you and mofome have made it clear that you have to side with the site on this one - GG Oddsmaker's, ur just a lonely fish at the bottom of the pool, hopefully everyone will go with the 10 better sites out there!!!!!

i agree its simple...

they solicited jimmy...

the email did not state he could not forward it...

oddsmaker took his bets...

he won...

met the rollover...

they owe him 8,150 dollars...

oddsmaker can keep turnin' left all they want here...its the same circle...

they are a horseshit sportsbook that is fucking this guy.

making me real sick.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

shrink,

Why would i admit i tried to cheat them when i didnt?? that is where you are believing what oddsmaker and tony stewart are telling you. and you are wrong on that.

guys yes i do play a minimum of a dime a game and this should be evidence that i would not being doing this kinda shady stuff over a 500 free play.

your biggest shred of so called evidence seems to be that my dad called a different number than the one on the email. think about it. i email him the information, he sees the name of the company, goes to the site, opens an account and then calls the number on the SITE? why is that so hard to understand?

i guess this industry is sho shady that you assume the worst right off the bat.

Yes i am experienced but i am not experienced at free play bonuses. I told you shrink in my 15 yrs of gambling online i always ignored any email offers. this was the first one i got so yes i was naive and did not know all the crazy ways they could come back and screw me.

one last thing. I knew oddsmaker was a risk. I googled them and found all kinds of negative stuff so i take accountability for that. I knew i might get screwed and did so im not mad about that as much as the fact that people out there think i really did something wrong.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

it's funny how the spin doctors try to skirt the issue.

this isn't about a bonus.

it's about the player's BALANCE.

his dad tried to get the same bonus and the book decided not to honor the request.

that has NOTHING to do with the player's BALANCE because IF the player had lost after having decided to deposit at stiff book advertiser, Oddsmaker, that money would be theirs. This is a classic example of a book free-rolling.

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

EXACTLY MUNSON, based on the past OM's was hoping he'd lose it back, that is why they didn't say anything at first, but then he won, and we all know how that turned out :(

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

The father tried to get a bonus. Oddsmaker shot him down and said no. End of story. The son goes on a winning streak and wants his money. Oddsmaker tries to find a reason to stiff the player. Hey, his father called to try to get a bonus. Lets stiff him for bonus abuse! Yeah, thats it, no one will know we stiffed him but us. WRONG!!!!!!!!!

that about sums it up

They caught his father because the account number wasn't profiled. All non-profiled accounts had no chance of slipping through.

The rest is BS

Re: JIMMYMAC VS. ODDSMAKER DISPUTE: THE VERDICT

shrink,

No my father is not an offshore gambler. he is an old man that always did it the old fashioned way. he just recently has become computer literate with email, etc

that is why i say its funny if you met my dad you would not think he was smart enuff to be pulling off a scam of a book.

and who would not get hot headed AFTER being told 8400 in winning will be forfeited for something they did NOT do.

Actually, it has zero to do with the balance. None. He tried to cheat, oddsmaker gave him the chance to come clean, instead he cursed and told them to close his account, which they could have done without even talking to him at all.

There is no spin. Its very clear. Why call a number other than the one in the email if you think this is ok? Game over.

You tried to cheat.
You lost.

Interesting. The part I find also interesting is the people Shrink reached out to for help. Jay C and SBR both agreed with player. OSGA posted an article earlier that they wish both sides could have come to an agreement (basically they were neutral) So Shrink, of these people yu reached out to for help, who sided with oddsmaker other then oddsmaker employees?

Players who disagree with this situation will effect 100 times the amount stolen from the player. It may take a year, but enough bad word of mouth will equal $840,000. Do you think players can cost this book $840K?

SBR had their mind made up before they even knew what happened. I wanted to take the players side and you know first hand how much I care about the player, its simply not possible.

oddsmakers have their rules. Whether Ken or I agree with those rules has no baring on any of this. They are there, they were violated, the decision was made by oddsmaker, the decision was within their rights.

The book knows that this decision will cost them money; that fact supports their case.
