From Byk's XM show today, lots of rain in Lexington area overnight. Turf likely to be soft the next couple days.

You mean you don't like driving down Cicero Avenue dodging broken glass with a view of smokestacks on the West Side?

I gotta give Hawthorne credit. They do make an effort. More than most tracks. For many years, my favorite betting meet was fall Hawthorne. It was one parade of 12 horse fields after another. Biased tracks day in day out, but the biases would change.

Pretty good card, after the first 3 races. 1-5 chalk in the 2nd and a bunch of 2 YOs, many first timers in the 3rd.
