That's a horrible fit IMO. The biggest strength of HOU was they were able to split time with Paul and Harden a lot insuring at least one of them were on the court at all times. Having 3 guys that are at their best with the ball in their hands is not a good idea IMO.

I understand your logic but a few items:

1. Hou stays healthy, they probably beat the Dubs in that Series w/ out LBJ... add him, OMFG

2. Supposedly LBJ is willing to play off the ball more and w/ playmakers like that around him, I don't see why he wouldn't

3. I just think they could make it work

I agree. If he went to the Bucks somehow, I think they would be a dominant team. It would be a great fit for him. Brogdon, Middleton, LeBron, Parker (if he stays), The Freak. That's a scary lineup.

They would be huge favorites to win the East, and a serious threat to GS. I like when Brogdon runs the offense better than Bledsoe, but he can play off the ball and these are players (with the exception of Giannis who is a superstar) Lebron would make much better.

I seriously doubt Chris Paul would ever tell LeBron James to "get fucked."

They were in each other's weddings and Paul spoke at LeBron's wedding.

Paul is a godfather to one of LeBron's kids and vice versa.

They were Pups and broken up too soon and I am not comfortable w/ that analogy, anyway.

If I'm HOU, I would rather add George or Leonard. They are not better players than Lebron, but they would make HOU a better team.

Bucks makes sense for sure. So do the Pels imo but I could be a little bias there.

Houston gives LeBron the best chance to unseat Golden State.

Paul versus Curry, Harden versus Thompson, LeBron versus Durant and Capela versus Green.

I'm a Sixers fan but I would rather see him go to H-Town simply because it's his best chance for a chip, imo.

While it's never going to happen, the Pelicans would be a nice spot. Don't know them that well as a team (good shooting?) but UniBron + Boogie = Domination.

Great handles but he's not a big fan of the assist.

"During a rare practice in the middle of last season, coach Tyronn Lue, who was standing next to assistant coach and Irving confidant Phil Handy, called out to his young point guard.

“Ky,” Lue said, “I want you to play a little faster.”

“Why?” Irving asked.

“Because if we play faster, we get shots off easier.”

“I don’t need to play faster to get my shot off,” Irving replied. “I can do that anytime.”

“I’m not talking about your shot. I’m talking about RJ and JR,” Lue said, citing teammates Richard Jefferson and Smith.

"“Well, that’s No. 23’s job,” Irving replied, referring to James..."

He'd have to get through GS before the finals if he went to the Pelicans though.
In the grand scheme of things that shoudn't matter at this point. Making another Finals without winning it adds nothing to his accomplishments and he will have to go through Gol st at some point to win the title. No sure he sees it that way though lol.

I have him on block so not sure what he is saying. You're right, Kyrie is not a natural 1, at all. I was running counter-surveillance on Boston this year and from the small sample I saw of Ky, he looks like he is growing a bit and rounding out his game (more emphasis on Defense and playmaking) but he's a natural born scorer.

Unfucking guardable unless #TheFirstCedi is shadowing him :) Did you see him send Curry's shit back to sender w/ 4 mins to go in Game 4? It's a fucking joke he got no burn throughout these playoffs... but I digress.

LBJ wants to make sure he cannot lose to Golden state in the finals again. So he is probably going to take a western conference team.

Ill take a stab at some of the replies.
1. Capela will not be in Houston unless hes mildly retarded he will be a pheonix sun w a max contract in 3 weeks.
2. Philly would have to tell Ben he isnt bringing the ball up anymore. Hes supposed to be the next LBJ. Im not sold on them at all personally. A 26th ranked d eff. And a team completely reliant on the 3 with a center made of glass. Should of taken Tatum.
3. Chris Paul is amazing but it feels that some don't realize he is not easy to play with for young players or players in contract years. His teams will always be top 5 in O eff but he is a slow mans dream. Methodical at best. Hes your game manager but stats will suffer even in a high octane D'antonio offense. Houston scored almost 9 ppg more when he was hurt in 17/18.
He gives you the best chance to win but not look good on a stat sheet in doing so. Something LBJ is semi enamored with.
4. Milwaukee? If he is leaving Cleveland where he is loved to death because its not a big enough stage. Milwaukee?! Dont get me wrong watching him and the freak lob to one another would be instant highlights every night.
5. If he leaves Cleveland which as of now is a IF. If they give him gm rights and max why would he leave? His entire family is still there and his brand is huge. He is a cult hero at this point. Hell if Im the cavs i make him part owner. He leaves I think its a 26ish win team.
6. The lakers make sense because of his homes and production company but only if he can get stars with him. Walton isnt Kerr and its still a rebuild of sorts. Theyd have to get rid of Balls contract for it to attract Paul.
7. Why has no one thought of San Antonio? Pop and Lbj are extremely close and talk frequently. If LBJ can talk Leonard into playing basketball again you have a serious challenger in the west and they have cap space.
8. Houston makes the least sense to me. Harden hates sharing the ball. They don't have the cap space. The only thing attractive about Houston is the system they use but there's only so many possesions per game.
9. I personally would like to see him go to the knicks. He impresses me so much Id like to see a NY/boston rivalry. Porzingas will be back by xmas.
10. Does it matter? I dont think any team can beat a healthy GS in 7. They were far from healthy this postseason. I think we are seeing maybe the best team of all time and Im unsure Kd has reached his full potential.
Fun topic.

I agree with this.

I think the team would also be fine with Lebron. But George/Leonard seem like they'd be a better fit. Maybe George a little better because he proved this year he can handle not being the top dog, who knows if Leonard can do that after the previous 2 years and what happened this past year.

#2, I can't see him going to Philly for two reasons. First, unlike Irving, Simmons can't play off the ball, the guy can't shoot, for LeBron and Simmons to coexist LeBron would have to give up ball handling duties and allow Simmons to run the majority of the offense. The second reason he won't go there is, for as talented as Simmons and Embiid are, they're too young to compete with a team like GS, in a few years maybe, but LeBron doesn't have a few years to wait, he needs to play with veterans who he can win with right now. Also like you mention, Embiid's health will always be a concern, I'd be shockedif he ended up there. #7, playing for Pop would be something LeBron would love doing, he's always held him in the highest regard and assuming the Leonard situation gets smoothed out they would be contenders, but does he want to live in San Antonio? How much does LeBron like Mexican food? #9, LeBron has said repeatedly MSG has always been his favorite place to play, but other than a young (and right now injured) Porzingis, I don't know what else the Knicks have to offer talent wise, can't see that happening.

I can't see a scenario where the Spurs would trade Leonard to the Rockets, and it's not a secret PG wants to play for the Lakers, but he would be a good fit for Houston, he would instantly become their best defender.

Re: LeBron to the Lakers?

If he is chasing a ring its Houston, possibly Boston but what a slap in the face to Irving. If he thinks he can wait a bit then Philly and possibly the Knicks. Knicks would also make him a legend if he won a ball there since they have sucked since I have been alive. Obviously if he went to NYK he would need to get a few guys to go with him a la Chris Paul, Paul George and even a guy like Deandre jordan if Porzingas injury is worse than people want to admit. Or if they could break the bank and get all the top guys to take cuts they could try for Cousins. But again that would mean Porzingas is basically not going to play next year.

But seeing Chris Paul, Lebron, and George in NYC next year is maybe a coin flip. But it all depends on Lebron. Lebron could probably get those two guys to go anywhere with him. But Porzingas being there (and able to play) is much more attractive (and negates the need to get either of the two guys I mentioned above. Hell thorw a few bucks and get Linsanity back in the big Apple.

Lebron still has enough to build a team to challenge GSW. Even if everyone stays. Hou obviously is instant and he wouldnt have to talk Paul into doing anything but he wouldnt have a guy like George either and you never know how Harden will handle it. I suspect not well.

Dark Horse would be Spurs since Pop is a socialist asshole like Lebron so they could sit around bashing Trump all day. But SA doesnt spend money and wont buiy a ring. So if Lebron wants instant gratification (which I am sure he does) theyre real long shot.

On surface Hou looks to make the most sense. But not really NY Knicks does, again depending on the moving parts that have to be manipulated but really not that hard because it only takes a couple phone calls. Phi, Bos, Spurs even Lakers all sound good but not much there in reality.

I need to check your temperature :) No fucking way I'm taking either of those guys over the best payer in the world. I understand your point, just disagree.

In all honesty, do you see any scenario Hou actually losing to GS w/ LBJ? Hell, we can never step in the same river twice but Hou probably beats GS this year if CP3 was good to go; w/ LBJ, JFC, that's night, night.

I love My LeBron and want whats best for him and if he truly wants a Chip, Hou is the hot-spot. He can win it elsewhere but the probabilities of him winning it in Hou are by far the farthest skewed in his favor; at least imo but I don't know the LG that well.

Yes, and that's because of the point we are disagreeing one. Harden won't be as great, and Paul won't be as great. I think both those guys can still be the players they are now with the addition of somebody like PG. I don't think they can be the players they are now with the addition of Lebron. The argument is does the addition of Lebron outweigh what gets lost with Harden and Paul. Maybe it does, but if I'm HOU I don't need to even take that chance if I know I can bring in a star that not only doesn't take away the value of those guys, but enhances it.

Or

Does houston need a good defender and a guy that doesn't need the ball in his had to have a difference in the game.

Imagine Houston with an upgrade over Trevor Ariza. Better defense and get them 10 more pts a game.

And there isn't even a close second.

If Hou probably would have beaten GS w/ CP3, I can argue the following:

1. Just give me LBJ & Harden and they beat GS.

2. Just give me LBJ & CP3 and they beat GS.

3. You want to give me all 3? The third time is the charm; it's a fucking wrap.

Golden State has won three of the last four NBA titles and more are on the way.

New arena debuts before the 2019-20 season.

Curry and Co. (Or is it Durant and Co.?) may be inspired to win in the last season at Oracle Arena and the first season at Chase Center.

Fair enough. It's one of those questions we will never know the answer to.

I was responding to you're perceived, "Yes," that you could see a way GS beats Hou w/ LBJ. Hou has basically answered the NBA question, "How do we beat GS?" They created a team that could of and probably should have done that this year. That is why I believe Hou is his best fit for a ring; add LBJ to that core team and the GS Dynasty expands no more. Well, at least to my mind but I have been wrong before.

I still think his best chance for a title is in Cleveland and hope to recruit someone.

Believe it or not, despite me being a Sixers Fan and thinking that a title is virtually guaranteed if he goes to HOU (@ full fitness, that's his best shot); I want him to stay.

However, LBJ the GM made a call saying he did not want Kyrie traded and Kyrie was traded. It's one of those things that if you order Martinez not to be touched and your orders are always followed, then why did Martinez have to be pulled off the base for his protection. Make sense? If LBJ really is the GM and he didn't want Kyrie traded, then why was he traded? Can we handle the truth? Maybe LBJ doesn't have the pull he wants and will move to a more stable situation. Don't get me wrong, I know he has a lot of pull in Cle but perhaps not at the level we think.
