I can live with some of these contracts nowadays but 3 years for 87 mil for Isaiah Hartenstein I can't live with. This reminds me of the ridiculous Jon Koncak contract back in the day, same skill set too.🙎

C's re-sign D White 4/126, considering the money being thrown around, looks more than reasonable to me

Gotta believe @ this point in his career KLay would be willing to coming off the bench & still get 22-28 minutes a game. Luka will guard the slowest of the other squads 3 guards/wings, think this was a solid move by the Mavs

Lakers made a big push for Klay, unfortunately he didn't want to continue paying CA state taxes.

Tatum 5/314, we're not far off from the first 100M a year player, in the next several years someone will get a 5/500 deal

Lol Khris Middleton declined a 40mil player option. I guess he's looking for a long term deal similar to P. George at the young age of 32, and injury prone.

Kings 3-year $75 mil sign and trade for DeRozan. No idea what the bulls are doing, but they are tanking the next two years to avoid trading their protected 1st rounder to the Spurs. What a time to be a Bulls fan. They really have some of the dumbest fans as they will sell out every game.

The Reinsdorf legacy is buying the Bulls when they got Jordan.

Lakers really needed DeRozan... he's the best elbow shooter in the league and draws fouls, unfortunately Lakers inflated payroll could only offer mid level money. Who's taking that to deal with LeBron and Co.? 😅

DeRozan overrated, he's a mid range jump shooter who can't shoot three's and doesn't play defense. bad trade for Sac

There were rumors the Heat had interest, very relieved when I heard he was headed to Sac

DeMar DeRozan established himself as one of the NBA's most lethal scorers, capable of getting buckets from all areas of the court, except outside the three-point arc. However, according to a report, DeRozan is one of the league's most overrated players. It highlights DeRozan's defensive limitations and his aversion to three-point shooting, which contributes to a perception that he may not be as valuable as some believe him to be.

"DeRozan's individual bucket-getting prowess has led to precious little team success and comes with a level of defensive ineptitude that basically cancels out (at best) the value he provides as a scorer," Grant Hughes wrote.

Furthermore, DeRozan's inclination towards midrange shots and hesitance to take threes in an era dominated by the long ball raises concerns about the viability of his skill set going forward.

"Throw in a career-long reluctance to work off the ball or shoot threes, and DeRozan has essentially pigeonholed himself as a high-usage weapon who limits his team's offensive ceiling and can't scale down into a supporting role because he doesn't contribute enough in other areas," Hughes added.

"In 11 of his first 12 seasons, DeRozan's teams had higher net ratings with him off the floor than on. Though his Chicago Bulls have played better with him in the game than out over the last two years, the defensive issues have persisted, and the friction between him and Zach LaVine is a direct result of DeRozan's inability to help when he's not operating as a first option," Hughes added.

They can have Lavine.

The Heat offered Caleb Martin 5/65, all he had to do was opt in and re-sign, he and his agent thought they could do better in the market, so he opted out, the best offer he got in free agency was from Philly 4/32. so his agent went back to Miami to see if their 5/65 offer was still available, the problem was once he declined to opt in, by rule the Heat could no longer offer him that contract, so he ended up signing in Philly for half the money he could have gotten

Here's Martin's response when asked about what happened

"That’s part of life, and you live and learn and you take risks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But I’m a true believer in everything happens for a reason."

Too show you how greedy these players have become, losing all sense of reality....34 year old Paul George was insulted with the LAC 2 year offer for 60mil.

I was looking at Tatum's 63 mil per year tax breakdown which includes a jock tax in every state he plays...after everything is deducted he is left with 25 million.

He took a risk and it cost him 33 million

In reality, he only is out the difference between 13M and 8M for 3 years ($15M). But he could recoup some or all.

He has an opt out for the 4th year. So, given NBA skyrocketing offers, in the somewhat unlikely event he gets a 2 yr/41M deal, he will come out even,

Anything is possible, but hard to envision him getting 20 million a year, also there's no state tax in Florida, so he loses even more money, a one year deal for 1 million in Florida is worth more than the same deal in Pennsylvania, the no state tax thing has always been a selling point for Florida teams when it comes to contract negotiations

In other NBA news, Railbird’s boy Leonard has withdrawn from the Olympic team…don’t think the team will miss him…
Smart move by him, he would have only gotten hurt anyway, looks like Derrick White will replace him, that would make three Celtics on the Olympic team, coming off the deep playoff run I'm not sure it's a good thing, but who am I to tell a player not to play for his country, still a concern though
