NFL schedule

I have only looked at a little, but from what I've seen, the Bears are the sequencing winner. The ideal schedule, start on road, then alternate home/road games every week so no back to back road games. The benefit of B2B home games is less than the negative of B2B road games. Have your bye late in the season to allow nagging injuries to heal. Bears start on road, then alternate home/road games every week. Their lone Thursday game is on T-gving in Detroit, so they not only get a divisional rival but a weak one. Bye week? Week 10. Whatever the Bears finish the season at, they can't blame the schedule maker.

While the Steelers, Ravens and Chicago Bears have the hardest schedules in 2021, the Philadelphia Eagles round out the list with the easiest. The Eagles' 2021 opponents went 117-155 in 2020 for a combined win percentage of .430. Philadelphia is the only team facing a combined win percentage below .450, due in large part to the fact that only three of their opponents finished above .500 last season.

So says Yahoo Sports.

LOL. Yahoo is probably the worst informed news source on planet Earth. I didn't think anyone was still using previous year's records to determine schedule strength. It's all about projected records for the upcoming season.

Actually, looking at what happened last year is the very first place you begin. And I stress, "begin."

If not, you are just walking on air in making projections.

And when you say, "it's all about projected records for the upcoming season," of course it is. Projections are what seeing the future is all about.

Lots of people on the net have created far more accurate strength of schedule estimates using season win betting lines. This past season records thing is truly archaic but the NFL uses it so the general population may buy into it.

Walking on air? I will take the sportsbooks current win/loss projections as being far more accurate than blindly taking last year's records.

Nobody said to blindly take last year's records in formulating projections for this year. I just pointed out who has the hardest and easiest schedules based on last year's results.

And where do you think the sportsbooks' win/loss projections come from? Do you think it might have anything to do with what happened on the field last year? i.e team records and how they were achieved, players' performances, injuries, close game losses, etc.

They start with ending power ratings, make adjustments for roster changes and the draft and then go down the schedule and come up with a line and corresponding win percentage for each game to do the math. That has some input from last season, but for example a team that was hurt much of the year at key positions will have a different outlook because the power rating is adjusted. Pretty simple stuff for them and even though sharp players can beat these most years, they still make a profit offering them.

rooting for dax prescott to get injured again

I remember reading something in the New Testament where Jesus said that he hated the Cowboys, and hoped that their quarterback suffered a catastrophic leg injury.

Good thing you're a true believer.

I would advise you to stand in the corner, and when the subject of West Coast basketball comes up in a thread, you may raise your hand and enter the discussion.

Other than that, you are pretty much of a miserable motherfucker.

But Matt is a great guy.

Here's some more advice:

You need to renounce the ways of Satan. Perhaps converting to Judaism might be beneficial for you. It is a wonderful tradition.

You would need to have a Bar Mitzvah. It would involve studying the Torah in a room filled with young boys approaching their 13th birthdays.

This would be right up your alley.

Give it some thought.

I have to run off now to get my power numbers adjusted for the coming NFL season.
