February 25, 2013 David Czarnik of Easthampton claimed a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts Lottery’s “50X THE CASH” instant game. He is the third person to win a $1 million prize playing the $10 since its debut at retailers on January 6.
Czarnik selected the cash option on the prize and received a one-time lump sum payment of $650,000 (less taxes). He plans to put an addition onto the house and buy two new cars with the winnings. This isn’t Czarnik’s first big lottery win. He won a $1 million prize in the $800 Million Spectacular game in October 2008.
Czarnik purchased the winning “50X THE CASH” ticket at College Highway Variety located at 334 Main Street in Easthampton – the same store where he bought his first $1 million winning ticket. The store will receive a $10,000 commission on the sale.
