Question about Billion Dollar bracket

What kind of premium do you think the sponsors of this impossible mission paid to an insurance company just to protect themselves?

Or did they just self-insure it figuring that nobody could ever do it?

The sponsor was an insurance company. Doubt they bought a policy elsewhere but who knows

They already announced that no one had a perfect bracket.

The premium was getting personal information from the entrants.

Premiums are far too high for these... a minimum of 1-2% with those long odds is an awfully large cost for anyone to bear. They may have sold off a bit to some other insurance companies, but I'm sure they'd be on the hook for a damn good chunk if someone had won it.
