You haven't 'proven' anything.

Hell, you don't even know how to post tables and link credible sources. :doh1

Virtually half of Obama's "new jobs" are in low-tax, low-regulation, non-union mob Texas.

Debt crisis: Is Texas 'America's Ireland'?

Everybody knows about California's fiscal woes, but why isn't anybody talking about the huge crisis looming in the Lone Star State?

Texas has been known as a pro-business, lean-spending, no-union state, so why is it so hard up for cash? Photo: CC BY: David Herrera SEE ALL 15 PHOTOS

Best Opinion: Moderate Voice, Dallas Morning News, NY Times...
The Texas economy is one of the most important in America, but the state faces a huge budget crisis in 2011 — and no one is talking about it, say Joe Weisenthal and Gus Lubin in Business Insider. Texas is looking at a $25 billion shortfall on a $95 billion, two-year budget that doesn't have "much fat to cut." Think of it as "America's Ireland" — "pro-business, anti-tax, low-spending," and praised for being so, "right up until the moment before it blows up." Is the Lone Star State a fiscal time bomb?
Yes, red states have problems, too: It's surprising that "Texas has just as many problems and perhaps even more," than "liberal blue states" like California and New York, says Ron Beasley in The Moderate Voice. But that's also why we don't hear about Texas: It doesn't fit the conservative storyline. States with little regulation and low taxes are supposed to have weathered this crisis in good shape. But conservatives said the same thing about Ireland, "until it melted down."
"The state budget problem you never hear about"
Texas is doing just fine: It's a shame about "the huge debt problems in Ireland," and the crises in California, Florida, and other states, says Steve Brown in The Dallas Morning News. They make it harder to feel good about the "comparatively good shape" Texas is in. Our real estate market made it through "nuclear winter" and only caught a cold, and unemployment isn't that bad. Texas has its problems, but "the hole we have to climb out of isn't very deep."
"Texas housing market took some hits but is still standing"
The Lone Star State will survive, with a few new scars: "Business Insider makes a number of errors in its analysis of Texas' budget deficit," says Wick Allison in D Magazine, but "the main point of the article isn't far off." Texas won't "blow up" like Ireland did, but cutting at least 10 percent of spending "is going to leave a lot of blood on the floor."
"Texas budget crisis: 'America's Ireland'?"
Texas and Ireland are apples and oranges: Like Ireland today, Texas had its own banking meltdown 25 years ago, says Floyd Norris in The New York Times. But Texas bounced back, thanks in large part to "the fact the American economy was integrated, with a central government that could and would help out." Texas still has that, should a crisis arrive. "Ireland can only wish" Europe was more like the U.S.
"The Texas fix is unlikely for Ireland"

Faced with growing highway congestion and a lack of tax money for road projects, Texas is turning to a group of investors to build private toll roads as a way to ease the gridlock.
Construction is set to start soon on two such projects -- the North Tarrant Express along Loop 820 and Highways 183 and 121 in Tarrant County and the LBJ Express along Highway 635 in North Dallas.
Critics say the move amounts to a privatization of an essential government function -- building and maintaining highways -- and that drivers will end up paying far more in the long run.
Backers of the idea say the state has few other options in a time of whopping budget deficits.
"We provide the funding to actually build this project,” said Robert Hinkle, spokesman for NTE Mobility Partners, which represents a number of companies involved in the project. “We bring it to fruition in less than five years, we open the road, we manage it and operate it for the 52-year contract.”

Paved With Future Profits...

The state does provide roughly a quarter of the upfront money, he said.
The investors, led by a Spanish company called Cintra, collect the tolls over those 52 years and keep the profits.
Critics such as state Rep. Lon Burnam say the government should build highways for the public good, not private businesses looking to make a profit.
"It is ridiculous for us to be going to a corporation out of Spain to address our transportation needs,” said Burnam, a Democrat from Fort Worth. "The problem is, how do we pay for an adequate transportation system? Most people don't want to pay the taxes, either. So a lot of my fellow elected officials have opted for what I think is a really bad idea, and that is the privatization of our road system."
Southern Methodist University economics professor Bud Weinstein concluded in a report several years ago that a private toll road would cost more than a public one, but now he says Texas is left with few options.
"In certain circumstances, private toll roads may be the only way to go,” Weinstein said. "Essentially for the next couple of years, there is just going to be a dearth of public money to go into highway construction."
The private toll roads will be something drivers in North Texas have never seen, with several differences from the public toll roads that have been around for years.

Re: REPUBLICANS WANT TO CUT PELL GRANTS BUT DON'T WANT TO CUT SUBSIDIES ON CORPORATE JETS

Dear xxxxxxx,

The "Death of Right to Work."

That's what the Wall Street Journal calls the National Labor Relations Board's (NLRB) attempt to do what the Big Labor bosses have been dreaming of for decades -- destroy the Right to Work of every worker in every state in the country.

And unless you act TODAY, I'm afraid they just may succeed!

As you know, in 2009, the airline manufacturer Boeing announced it would open a new plant in the Right to Work state of South Carolina, employing over 1,000 men and women.

But since South Carolina is a Right to Work state, the Big Labor bosses at the International Association of Machinists union can't force the workers to pay up or be fired.

Furious, the union bosses have filed an "Unfair Labor Practice" charge against Boeing -- demanding that the plant be shut down.

And President Obama's appointees at the NLRB are more than happy to oblige.

In fact, the NLRB's acting General Counsel, Lafe Solomon, recently filed a complaint against Boeing asking a judge to stop production at Boeing's South Carolina plant and force Boeing to transfer the manufacturing to Washington -- a forced-unionism state.

If the Big Labor bosses get their way, it is likely the 1,000 workers will be laid off and forced into the unemployment lines.

And it gets worse.

The Wall Street Journal called the complaint "The Death of Right to Work" because if the NLRB can stop a business from operating in a state simply because that state prohibits compulsory unionism, companies and workers will have nowhere to flee from forced-unionism tyranny.

And the stage will be set for the National Labor Relations Board to DESTROY every state Right to Work law in the country.

You and I cannot let this happen.

The Obama bureaucrats at the NLRB cannot be allowed to dictate to companies where they can operate, or to workers for whom they can work. But they will, if you, and millions of Americans like you, do not mobilize to stop them.

That's why it's vital sign the petition to your U.S. Senators IMMEDIATELY.

You see, the NLRB's charges are completely baseless. But by forcing Boeing to spend millions of dollars defending themselves, the Board has effectively scared thousands of other companies out of moving or expanding into Right to Work states.

Fortunately, there is a bill in Congress to order the NLRB to stand down.

The Job Protection Act (S.964) simply says that employers have the right to open businesses and hire workers wherever they think it makes sense to do so ?- and the Obama bureaucrats at the NLRB won't be able to sue them for making the sound economic decision to move to a Right to Work state.

As you'll see, the petition urges your Senators to support the Job Protection Act to forbid the NLRB to persecute Boeing or any other company for creating jobs in Right to Work states.

The fact is, the NLRB is one of Big Labor's most effective accomplices in increasing its forced-dues power.

And over the past few years, Obama's NLRB has repeatedly ruled against workers who have tried to exercise even their most basic rights
.

Whether these workers sought to dismiss unwanted union "representation" or attempted to stop their forced dues from being used to elect handpicked Big Labor politicians, the story was the same -- union-label NLRB appointees sided with their Big Labor allies in favor of compulsion.

And since the 2010 elections -- it's only gotten worse.

You see, with the political winds shifting in our direction, the union bosses know they're going to have a hard time ramming their radical agenda through Congress.

So they're depending on Obama's hand-picked bureaucrats at the NLRB to expand their forced-dues empire through regulatory fiat
.

And this current action against Boeing, as bad as it is, is just the tip of the iceberg.

In fact, the Big Labor bureaucrats at the NLRB are scheming to impose most of Big Labor's agenda on the American people, including: *** Card Check Forced Unionism, which would STRIP workers of the right to a secret ballot in union elections, allowing union thugs to intimidate workers one-on-one -- or three-on-one -- into signing so-called "union authorization cards;"

*** Unfettered access to the workplace, forcing employers to allow radical union militants to access private company property to harass workers into signing themselves and their fellow employees over to union boss control;

*** Mandatory binding arbitration, which would allow President Obama's hand-picked minions to impose the terms and conditions of employment on private American workers and companies;

*** Quick snap, ambush elections that leave employers and independent-minded employees with virtually no time to share truthful information ?- so workers only hear one side of the story -- Big Labor's!

That's why it's vital you act TODAY!

The good news is, there is one way you and I can stop Obama's NLRB from forcing more workers under Big Labor's forced-unionism grip.

And that's by mobilizing the millions of Americans who oppose compulsory unionism to turn up the heat on Congress to shut down the rogue NLRB's bully tactics immediately.

The Job Protection Act will block the Board's attempt to force Boeing and other companies from Right to Work states into forced-dues states.

And shutting them down on this fight will discourage the Board's bureaucrats from risking their careers to concoct new schemes to bring more workers under Big Labor's thumb.

But passing the Job Protection Act won't be easy.

That's why I hope you'll agree to chip in with a contribution of $10 or more to the National Right to Work Committee.

Through direct mail, email and telephone, our plan is to mobilize up to ten million Americans to expose the NLRB's schemes.

And that's just our initial push.

We'll also hold press conferences in targeted states calling on Congressmen and Senators, by name, to slash funding for the National Labor Relations Board.

And then, funds permitting, we'll run hard-hitting newspaper, radio and TV ads in the crucial few days just before the vote in Congress.

If Big Labor's NLRB gets away with their attempt to bypass Congress and RAM Big Labor's agenda down the throats of the American people, it will deal a crippling blow to our already-struggling economy.

And millions more Americans will be forced to pay tribute to a union boss just get or keep a job ?- if they can find a job at all.

That's why I hope you'll consider chipping in with a contribution of $10 or more
.

President Obama's allies at the NLRB are doing everything they can to increase Big Labor's power over workers and employers all across the country.

Your support is critical to stop them.

So please, sign the petition to your U.S. Senators IMMEDIATELY.

Please act today!

Sincerely,

Mark Mix

P.S. The NLRB's attempt to force Boeing to move jobs from a Right to Work state to a forced-dues state is outrageous and extremely dangerous. Congress must pass the Job Protection Act to bring this rogue agency under control.

So please, sign the petition to your U.S. Senators IMMEDIATELY!

And if at all possible, please chip in with a contribution of $10 or more.

Wait and see what happens when Boeing packs up and moves to China or India because of these anti-American union mobsters.

And tank and the Obama drones wonder why billions in capital is sitting on the sidelines and not being invested to create new jobs! :doh1

The simple fact is this: so long as a Marxist occupies the White House, capital will remain on strike, which means NO ECONOMIC RECOVERY.

Re: REPUBLICANS WANT TO CUT PELL GRANTS BUT DON'T WANT TO CUT SUBSIDIES ON CORPORATE JETS

Unions are great, tank tells us.

I mean, there's Ford (he didn't mention GM and Chrysler, how conveeeeeenient), Caterpillar, Boeing...so many great prosperous companies run by unions.

Right?

What's wrong with this picture?

Well, think about it...what do all these companies he cites have in common?

THEY ARE DINOSAURS!

They have been around forever, decades and decades, and survived in spite of union mobsters barging into their offices and plants telling them how to run their businesses.

What tank doesn't mention of course are the block after block of boarded-up businesses, as well the ones that packed up and left the US entirely because of his pie-in-the-sky left wing politics. What he doesn't tell you is the dearth of NEW union jobs in these Big-Government forced-labor states. Where are the NEW union jobs, tank? Where are the NEW factories and offices and shops? Is Michigan attracting NEW union jobs? How bout California? New York? Illinois? Pennsylvania? What happened to Steeltown and Motortown, tank?

The fact is, no small business or new business can afford unionism, and for that matter, Obamacare and layer upon layer of Cass Sunstein's new regulations.

Now, step back and look at the big picture: if the United States isn't attracting NEW businesses and NEW investment, well, then the United States is a declining power. (HA! Like you needed me to tell you that!)

This is what happens when we let the mob and their idiotic Alinsky-ite ideas ("social justice", "living wage", "redistributive change", etc.) become laws.

Memo to the drones: Capital always flows to the areas of least resistance. This means high taxes, draconian regulations and union mobsters are kryptonite to NEW businesses and NEW investment.

As I said, so long as a Marxist class-warfare demagogue and his endless list of Soviet-like 'czars' occupy the White House, there is absolutely NO CHANCE IN HELL OF A RECOVERY!

Until people wake the fuck up and overpower the ruling mob, things are going to get considerably worse before they get better.

Fellas, there's legitimate arguement to both sides here. When the economy is rolling then there's enough profit for everybody. But when the economy goes sour EVERYBODY needs to take cuts. A good union is one that works with the owner to keep the company from going belly up.

Why mention GM when my point is made showing that a company with a union work force can make money and be okay? Why did GM fail while Ford weathered the storm??Same union right but what was different??
Right?

Simple!!Global economy!!Remember jobs are created out of demand right??Where is the demand in this global economy? What happened to the steel industry??....ask the government since they are the ones that regulated it out of the country and the unions did not have shit to do with it.

The fact is, no small business or new business can afford unionism, and for that matter, Obamacare and layer upon layer of Cass Sunstein's new regulations.
Demand and product determine this and it is really a simple concept you cannot understand.

Who has the largest economy in the world and who exports the most??Why??

This is what happens when we let the mob and their idiotic Alinsky-ite ideas ("social justice", "living wage", "redistributive change", etc.) become laws.
And as I have proven letting corporations determine the wages leads to poverty problems like the right to work states have. The top 15 states for poverty are all right to work states that the government has to subsidies to keep them from 3rd world status while fools like you try to brag up those low rent scabs that are to stupid to figure it out.

Unions are like governments. They ALWAYS overreach.

Therefore, unions are detrimental to a free people buying and selling products. Unions don't 'make' anything, or contribute to an economy, they are parasites, plain and simple. Look at the chill they are sending down the spines of businesses all across the country with this Boeing bullshit. They'd rather see American workers lose their jobs than allow a company to open a new plant in a right-to-work state. And for months tank and other left drones were trying to convince people that unions aren't mandatory, and business are free to make their own decisions. :doh1

What part do you not understand??This is America and if people want to form a union then they have that right regardless of what scab loving low rent scumbags like you say!!If they want to work cheap and live in poverty like the right to work states are then they also have that right!!Just because 99% of the people like you are jealous and envious of what we have is no reason to go whining and crying about what we have.If you like your low wage job and are a coward that will do nothing about it then shut up and enjoy it but do not whine and cry about what we have.It is very simple!!
What you do not know about Boeing is the fact that the state of Washington gave them billions in tax breaks because they were going to create those jobs there but Boeing tried to take the money and run. They were held accountable for this and if that is a crime then a corporate pole smoker like you will never have any shame.
Yes business is free to make their own decisions but for some reason a Fascist like you cannot understand that workers have the same right!!Funny how a Fascist like you cannot grasp a simple thing like this!!

Disappearing Middle-Class Jobs

<cite> by Jenna Goudreau
Wednesday, June 29, 2011</cite><cite class="provider">
</cite>

"The American dream is dead for the majority of America," financial guru Suze Orman told Forbes last year, speaking about her upcoming book "The Money Class."
<table style="border: #d7deee 1px solid; margin: 10px" align="right" width="40%"><tbody><tr><td style="padding: 10px">More from Forbes.com:

The 10 Best Employers in Retail

The 10 Most Sexist Jobs in the U.S.

The Companies Hiring the Most in Sales Right Now</td></tr></tbody></table>The dream she was referring to isn't a Cinderella story. Rather, Orman believes the hope of someday owning a home, of working one job for life and retiring at 65 has been crushed by the financial crisis. "The middle class has disappeared," she said. "Many of the millions of jobs lost I don't think are coming back. I am really afraid for the majority of Americans today."
Are stable, well-paying middle-class jobs an endangered species? Economists say: Sort of.
"The idea that one can have a single-earner family, get a good job, keep it for life and have a comfortable living is all but gone," says Kevin Hallock, professor of labor economics and director of the Institute for Compensation Studies at Cornell University. "Long-term job stability is declining, and there aren't good unionized jobs like there once were."
The recession may have just complicated and compounded what was already occurring. Generally, jobs are disappearing where there's been a technological advance — "where a human was doing something, now a technology is doing it" — or a change in the way that organizations function, says Hallock. And not only are old-fashioned assembly line jobs on the decline, several white-collar office positions are also in jeopardy.

From the article...

"Long-term job stability is declining, and there aren't good unionized jobs like there once were.

And yet a clueless Fascist like Joe that is so overcome with envy he cannot see the obvious!!

Re: REPUBLICANS WANT TO CUT PELL GRANTS BUT DON'T WANT TO CUT SUBSIDIES ON CORPORATE JETS

Bullying and Marxism have no business in a free America. The time may come when gun-carrying conservatives will need to round up progressives and throw them out of the country in order to save America.
Spoken like a true Fascist!!Hitler tried this too!!

Unions are detrimental to buying and selling products????
Yes, when mobsters think they have the 'right' to set the price of goods and services (by bullying employers with outrageous salary and benefit demands), that is absolutely detrimental to the free market.

If you don't like the terms and conditions of your employment, it's very simple: LEAVE!

If the government is beginning to strong-arm businesses telling them where they can and can't open and close plants because of unions, well, we're getting very close to pitchfork time!

Given what I see happening in Greece, Portugal and elsewhere, I'm no longer opposed to the idea.

You are beyond clueless!!Your wage is determined by profits[hence the 2 tiered wage scale]

If you don't like the terms and conditions of your employment, it's very simple: LEAVE!
Finally !!Hell yes and if you do not want a union job..THEN DO NOT APPLY OR LEAVE!!!It is very simple and I am glad you are finally starting to wise up a little.
The government is simply telling Boeing to either create the jobs in Washington state where they got the money or give it back!!Simple but you keep trying to use the right to work foundation talking points that are getting you nowhere.

If what you say is true, then it sounds like a pretty good open and shut case. Boeing needs to compensate the state. Did the State of Washington get this agreement in writing? Is there a contract? No? Too bad, so sad.

Either way, sounds like an issue between Boeing and WA. So why are the mobster unions involved, tank?

Does any objective outside observer believe this union sob story?

Yes they did get it in writing and that is why the NLRB ruled against Boeing!!Why are the unions involved?Because in the last contract they signed with the union, the union gave up concessions[wages and benefits] along with the state money so those jobs would be created there.

It's not a NLRB issue! :doh1

Great! Progressive taxes and regulations are too high in WA, so the state entices companies like Boeing with lower taxes, state funds and other perks exclusive to them. Just like Obamacare waivers, its another case of government picking and winners losers. If you don't have the political clout and you're on the outside, well, sucks to be you. You gotta pay your taxes, Boeing does not.

Folks, that ain't the free market, its ugly crony capitalism, virtually the same way the mob does business. Rule of law, my ass!

So now the State of WA and their union mobsters are crying foul running to the Kenyan's commies on the NLRB because a right-to-work state is offering Boeing a better deal? :LMAO

Re: REPUBLICANS WANT TO CUT PELL GRANTS BUT DON'T WANT TO CUT SUBSIDIES ON CORPORATE JETS

The NLRB is not the problem here.It is a fact that Boeing got a sweetheart deal with the state and union and now has to abide by that. The big 3 have moved jobs overseas without any saying from the NLRB because it was not like this deal.Personally I think Boeing will have to open another plant somewhere eventually anyway because they cannot keep up with demand now. They have already added over 1000 jobs and still cannot catch up with production.3 years from now this will happen and Boeing will have a plant down south and no jobs will be moved from Washington state anyway. The union is being greedy here wanting all jobs up there but since they are not losing any jobs I do not see the problem.

Um the best deal they got was with Washington and that is why they signed it!!The rest of your garbage is not worth wasting the time on...usual nonsense without any substance.

Hey tank, if taxes are low (or better yet, nonexistent), regulations are fair and predictable, government wouldn't need to entice big corporations with "sweetheart deals."

Agreed!!The NLRB is not saying where Boeing can do it's business at but it is saying it has to live up to it's end of the bargain they signed. The Government needs to stay out of the way of business or just like the steel industry it will disappear too.
