RIP John Asher...the longtime director of Churchill Downs. A true gentleman who had a true passion for the sport of horse racing. He also was a five-time Eclipse Award winner on his radio documentaries on the sport. He had an infectious personality and was beloved by all.

RIP John...he passed way too early at age 62..thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Was vacationing in Florida when he suddenly told his wife he was sick and needed to go to the hospital.

He was dead before he was admitted to the hospital.

Asher had a lifelong battle with weight issues.

He had lost a lot of weight in recent years.

Asher worked for Churchill Downs for the past 21 years.

Fabulous ambassador for the Louisville racetrack and a true Kentucky Derby historian.
