State of mind

I believe that a person's state of mind has as much if not more to do with winning or losing, whether it be poker, sports or whatever.Example:
I took Philadelphia -3 and under 40.5 this past monday night.Looked pretty good that it would work out. Then Donovan McNabb throws it up for the defense....and you know the rest of the story:)
Anyway, this put me in such a bad state of mind, that it caused me to pick horribly the next day(0-4 in NBA/NHL).And this isn't the first time I've experienced this 'syndrome',to be honest.
So I guess my point in saying this is that when you're in a bad state of mind, don't try to analyze and bet on anything. It doesn't compute right because your brain won't let it.And you wind up 'wearing the collar',as Jack Buck used to say :)Good evening all.
