Pretty rare circumstance, I only have " LIFE IS GOOD" in addition to "COBYDUBOSE" as also winning TNF picks all 5 weeks.

Pirate prior plays YTD: 15-9-1, hypothetically tied at about 198

All “raw unfiltered” stale line prior plays YTD: 17-25-2

Yes, that means that the undercard has done only 2-16-1 YTD, which would be an even better fade TY than a follow of the Pirate plays (in terms of percentages, mechanically fading the undercard wouldn't always produce a full five play contest card).

On the fly, I don’t recall there being such a marked divergence between the Pirate plays and the dregs (for a potentially viable follow and/or fade strategy either for the contest or at the windows, subject to the line variances as to the latter).

But I’ll look back at my notes for the 2011-16 seasons once this season is over (plate is too full now) to see if I have enough of the real-time data preserved as to also the undercard to make a multi-year comparison.

Last word I heard from the NFL, LAC @ OAK will go as scheduled.

However, if the scheduled setting goes up in smoke (they're still monitoring the fires), this rule may come into play:

23. In the event of a game cancellation or postponement, the game must be played by Tuesday of that week to be applied toward contest standings or contestant will be awarded zero points for that game.

Sort of like losing, well, no, exactly like losing, for both sides where used by contestants.

Pirate bogied the sixth hole with 2-3 on the week' stale lines plays, for 17-12-1 YTD.

Undercard went 1-2, for 3-18-1 YTD.

Total, unfiltered stale line plays went 3-5, for 20-30-2 YTD.

I assume you're referring to the Westgate "Consensus" and pick distribution information. AFAIK, this data was first posted for the Hilton SuperContest by Andy Iskoe, www.logicalapproach.com , all the way back to 1998. He appears to have stopped in 2010.

I think initially he did it on the vain hope that somehow the popular picks (consensus) would somehow outperform the overall selection W/L. Of course, just taking the Top 5 teams selected numerically occasionally gives obviously flawed results such as opposing teams both ending up in the Top 5.

Now I think its disclosure, being hyped by VSiN and the Westgate, is as a superfluous curiosity. When you consider the consensus Top 5 is data-mined out of a pool of selections that overall go at a W/L of 50.5% (which is bloated slightly by stale lines), it has almost no statistical significance.

After a 5-0 week, I'm finally feeling like I'm in this contest. Up to 18.5 points and trending the right direction. A long season ahead, but if you told me I'd be sitting 18-11-1 at this point, I think I'd take it. Curious to see whether this cash line stays so crazy high.

It perhaps was atypically low, but the eventual winner's two entries last year were back at 17 and 16 points after Week 6, as against a 24.5 leader.

It's as much a matter of the early leader group falling back behind you as you catching them.

It's a virtual lock that the Week 17 final winner won't be at 80%. And that the Week 17 final money cut won't be at 69%.

The past two years with the 50 place payouts have paid down to 50.5 (2016) and 52.0 (2015) points.

Indeed. I'm not sure it's early enough to start rooting against the picks at the top because there isn't clear enough separation yet. But that will add a nice element to all of it. Must keep plodding along with winning weeks and hope for a few spiked 5-0s on the way home.
