Who's The Most Dominant NCAA Basketball Player To Flop In The NBA?

JJ Redick comes to mind, although he doesn't play bad when given the opportunity.

But he is the example I'm talking about.

From such dominance in the collegiate ranks to almost the complete opposite in the pros.

Who else guys?

Hickory's favorite 7' roadside crack dealer. lol

One of the biggest problems with Washburn was the loose ship that Valvano ran at NC State. While Valvano will always be remembered for his speech, he allowed his players to do anything they wanted and that led to his ousting there.

There's lots of players who have had solid NCAA careers then stunk it up in the NBA, but there are those in another group that were unstoppable in college & failed miserably in the pros...

Anderson Hunt was a great shooter but the rest of his game was never developed. When you play alongside Larry Johnson, Stacey Augmon, Greg Anthony and George Ackles, you are going to get as many open looks as you want. I wouldn't really consider him a bust.

in a way i guess. the difference is that in college he dominated cause he actually tried. in the NBA he could've been a top 5 player in the league but he didn't try. lots of talent, no heart.

Why mention Battier? He starts plenty of games and wasnt really expected by everyone to be a dominant pro.

I am an idiot -- I thought we were talking about flopping--when guys flop and act like have been hit and trying to get a referee to blow a whistle.

Shane Battier has had a solid carreer and was crucial last couple of years.

Obviously there was a reason Hunt went undrafted Hitdogg. It was because there was nothing besides 3 point shots in his resume. Hunt was arrested for marijuana but not for crack to my knowledge. Some of the best players in the NBA still puff on weed to this day and have no problems.

Whats the story with him?

Here is the story on him from Wikipedia:

Anderson Hunt (born in Detroit, Michigan) is a retired professional basketball player, perhaps best known as the UNLV Runnin' Rebels shooting guard when the Rebels won the 1990 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship and appeared in the Final Four in 1991. He was also named the tournement's Most Outstanding Player. He left the school as a junior after the 1991 season to enter the NBA Draft, much to the dismay of his coach, Jerry Tarkanian, who had hoped to convert him to point guard and make him the centerpiece of the team in the 1991-92 season. Despite his solid college resume, Hunt went unselected in the 1991 NBA Draft. The La Crosse Catbirds would select him in the second round of that year's Continental Basketball Association draft with the 25th overall pick.
In October 1993, Hunt was arrested for marijuana possession [1] in connection with a traffic stop and later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges. In 2002 he again ran into legal trouble, facing charges of attempted embezzlement after he failed to return a rental car for an extended period of time. [2] He was ordered to pay $1,300 in restitution and placed on probation.
Hunt ended up playing professionally in Turkey, Poland, and France.
Now retired from basketball, he currently works as a cook at the Burger Palace, located inside the Imperial Palace hotel and casino.

Well, I personally know a player on the Nets and can confirm that he smokes weed. And no it isn't one of the three big stars.
