Dirty, I understand your point that it should be in Vegas every other year, but what does it matter what coast they are on, or if they are in North Dakota or Texas for that matter?

I live in OK, I'll have to travel either way. Why go out of your way to please people who are right there anyway? Why should people who live in California be considered before anyone else at any time?

Because of Convenience.... who the hell wants to be in a Airport 16 hours in a day or get 3 flights?

Almost anywhere in the US you can get a Non Stop flight to Vegas. You can't to the Bahamas

OK so when should i book my flight to Vegas for the bash?


Can we have it the weekend before MLK day? My wife is a school teacher and she would go if she had Monday off as well. It is usually around Jan 16th or so, whatever date the Monday is.

I just missed the bash at the other site for the first time in 3 years. I dont want to miss EOG bash this year

The blast dates are set.... AFC/NFC Championship weekend and you know that PO......The games are on the 20th of January, 2008 in the year of our lord. The location is all that is yet to be determined.

i can drive to vegas in 4 hours

bahamas requires leaving hom about 3 hours before my flight leaves to make the drive to LAX and then deal with traffic and the bullshit one gets there then boarding a red-eye and getting to either Miami or Ft Lauderdale @ 5A and waiting 3+ hours to catch a 1 hour puddle jumper to the Bahamas and then on the way home be on about 7 hours worth of flights. Vegas would cost me about 10-15% of what Bahamas would yet i soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wanna go to Bahamas it ain't funny

Dirty - i truly appreciate you thinking about those of us on the WC - but most of us on the WC want to go to Bahamas - because we have been to Vegas too f*****g many times in our lives to count and very few (if any) to the Bahamas

i know the decision is not mine (OOOOOOOOH how i wish it was - lol) but when you think about what time of year we are talking about the BEST choice is the one that requires a Passport for all (or just about all) to get to as opposed to the one that requires few - if any - to have one

Well don't make any plans for either location just yet!

You notice THE SHRINK has not been in this thread very often! These things cost alot of money! Most of which comes outta THE SHRINK'S pocket!!

Where ever we end up will be fine with me. I have a good idea of where we are going, but it is too soon to know for sure!!

You may want to reconsider making bus plans..

I am seriously considering having our next EOG BLAST in Macau. This gambling mecca is next to Hong Kong. This place is trying to outdo Vegas and the first phase of the project opened in 2007.

It will feature seven resort hotels with more than 10,000 rooms, casinos and eight entertainment theatres as well as a convention centre.

Transportation may be an obstacle so that's why we are giving all of you such advanced notice...

And like always, the rooms will be furnished for FREE by EOG...

That's way more big-time gambler than I can imagine. It's blockbuster. You may get 4 people.

But it seems to me that you have to do stuff where your normal ploppies have a chance of attending.

I figured anyone who could mention Branson, Missouri as a possible choice for the next EOG BLAST would do wheel barrels after hearing of Macau!

The food there is simply fabulous so long as you stay away from pizza or deli...

Two specialties at our resort include:

“Stinky Tofu”
Take a brine made with shrimp, vegetables and salt, ferment for months, soak a block of tofu in it for several hours, and you have a dish renowned for its pungent odor. Stinky tofu (also known by its Chinese name, Chou Dofu) is one of those foods that it’s impossible to feel neutral about - people either love or hate it. Asian tourists who follow their nose will have no trouble locating a stinky tofu stand – street hawkers who sell it have been fined for breaking air pollution laws. For those who want to enjoy their stinky tofu in a more formal atmosphere, several restaurants devoted to the smelly curd have sprung up in recent years, including Dai’s House of Stinky Tofu in Taipei, rumored to be a favorite haunt of film director Lee Ang.

Sea Cucumber
Wander into any Chinese medicine shop and you’ll spot what appears to be a chunk of cement in one of the display cases. This is the dried form of sea cucumber, also known as beche de mer and sea ginseng. This strange looking ocean creature looks exactly like a cucumber with the addition of tubed feet and a ring of tentacles around its mouth.

Unfortunately, sea cucumber’s taste doesn’t live up to its appearance – it’s rather bland. Nonetheless, it’s reputed medicinal value and reputation as an aphrodisiac make sea cucumber a popular dish at Chinese New Years banquets and other festive celebrations.

If you really want to have it in HK he could set something up at one of their 2 racetracks.

i am told they have turn down service but i never asked what it involved since - contrary to all rumors - i have NO DESIRE to stay there since i am told they have a huge picture of Beantown Jim in the lobby and in all rooms

Regardless of where we pahhhhhhhhhhty - any idea when the decision will be announced so travel plans can be made for those who are going and will need to make some - and get a better airfare
