On page 72 of your book you claim to have more power than Peter Wilson, in fact, you state, "he was put into the marketing department to assist me on anything I needed." Well if he was working for you why was he indicted and not you? And why would you risk yourself and others by publishing this book now pre-trial? Don't you fear being subpoened by the gov't to testify?

I was wondering the same thing....

Seems like you are risking much more than you could possibly gain...

Consider yourself in court at sometime in the near future....

Re: The Rise and Fall of BetOnSports Book Preview

It's in rewrite for the third time. Old Hacksaw has put out two editions thus far....one close to the truth, and one unbelievable. This is the first time any novel has been put out in the industry that talks about people who are at trial for their lives, so that it can be used as propaganda to promote another sportsbook....where many of the principals all had previous addresses at Mall San Pedro! Well, in the book he does use Mall San Pablo...so that does throw you off a bit... if you're a complete idiot. And then he tells you that it is a story that had to be told and he decided to do it now, two weeks before kickoff? What a coincidence. Does he think we are all idiots????

The events of the book take place in 2000 and 2001. Thereafter its strictly opinion and a single person's opinion does not equate to fact. The book is off the market due to sensitive issues. I will not release any other editions on this topic. I apologize to everyone for whom I will no longer answer any questions.

Thank goodness there will be no more editions...I am having a hard enough time understanding edition # 2. I am confused as to how Claude, who is Shaun's cousin, becomes his older brother on page 107 while enjoying the 'magic brownies"

Ballsrash,

You should get Shrink throw you a few dimes for a 3 or 4 part series of what happened at Aces Gold. There are some great old sportsbook stories at bettorsworld that still make that place visiting once in a while to read.

I would love to hear about what happened at Aces and enough time has passed that I think it is time to tell that tale. It will make fantastic content for EOG and it is a storie some old timers would love to hear.

I hope you consider doing it and I hope someone will consider giving you some incentive to write the story.
I would even help you edit it if you just want to write it and not worry about flow or structure too much.

Let us know what you think.

ersamuels2007, thank you for pointing out a mistake, over the course of a 150 pages I did make a few mistakes. That is going to happen.

Other than that you do make very valid points and ask excellent questions. I will assure you that I do have documents that support the logistics of the novel, so if there will be no legal recourse.

Re: The Rise and Fall of BetOnSports Book Preview

I'm glad for your sake it was only a few hundred, what about the rest of us that got screwed big time?"but what are you to do"is a great comment for some of us to read. They suck and I goddamn sure would'nt spend .15 cents to read their lame ass excuses.Sorry,Dirty but that is a fuckin low comment coming from somebody claiming to be on the players side

sl55;

When are you going to realize that sites that market and advertise books that are well known for ripping people off and ones that have historically had problems are NOT on the players side? There are very few offshore sportsbooks that one can wholeheartedly trust. That if everything went sideways they'd still pay their customers. And I hope most of us know who they are, there are only a handful.

But if you or anyone thinks Ken, the Rx, or any other site or entity that is making decent coin from accepting advertising from less than "excellent" sportsbooks is going to willingly cut their income in half, in reality much more than that, by only sending people to the A and A+ books then you're one of the numerous naive people participating in this industry.

99% of sportsforums in existance have as their #1 priority to make money first, not to "help the player". And that's been shown over and over by seeing such joints like BoS, SBG, BetUS, and any book ever involving the infamous Tej being advertised and pushed blatently.

This may be a bit of a stretch but I make comparisons to sportsforums (which I own one myself) and drug pushers. The forums that only push the top-notch sportsbooks are like weed dealers, it's not good for you, but hey, you can do what you want with your body and your money. And, you may even have a good time while using them. But the ones that accept advertising from any and all comers, they're crack dealers. They know full well that if you use them it's a no-win situation, even if you hit a 12 team parlay, or even if you're the mayor of D.C. But the lure of big money...greed.

It's a shame that thousands of "newbies" and experienced gamblers most often find these types of forums first, as they're the most popular, get the most exposure, have the most traffic. In the few conversations I've had with Ken I like him, he was hospitable. But come on, he's showed his cards in respect to this issue, time and time again.

sbbs, thanks for the belief that some of the book is true. As for the rest, I assure you there are no lies in the book. I do make not when my statements are hearsay, opinion, or hypothetical.

As for your other accusations all you have to do is some research, there is certainly enough information in the book to substantiate plenty of stories, plus I have paperwork to prove it. Furthermore nothing in the book constitutes anything that would implicate anyone of a crime. My time as a consultant for BOS was before the investigations.

Damn! I love college football. I am looking forward seeing my alma mater the Ohio State Buckeyes take care of business with Division I opponent Akron while the Oregon Ducks cruise into the womb of Ann Arbor and spank Michigan. On that I will leave you wit this poetic note.

Go Bucks, Go Ducks

Tonight I f**k, and tomorrow Michigan sucks!

Re: The Rise and Fall of BetOnSports Book Preview

Summary: Hacksaw worked for BOS as a media buyer from August 2000. The first year they pay him $8,500 in cash, and another $8,500 in a betting account. BOS imposed a rollover requirement and he lost the balance.

He continued to work for BOS (and affiliated companies) in 2001 through May 2002, spending significant time in Costa Rica. BOS put him up in a slummy apartment with visiting misfits. American employees were relatives, alcoholics, drug addicts, or other losers who couldn't find opportunities in the U.S. Hacksaw drank and chased hookers with them.

CEO David Caruthers was a puppet. BOS founder "G" blatently stiffed everybody at every opportunity. This includes customers, advertisers, even the phone company!

Hacksaw bought over $3 million in ads in 2001 for a 10% commission, while paying for his own flights and expenses. In the end BOS paid him only $25K (affiliated companies probably paid him separately). Hacksaw thinks he will make money on the book.

The thread already shows the quality of the writing.

KimLee,

That's a cute little book report.

Now you might want to re-read the book because your critique is lacking, considering there was a lot more to the employees at BOS per my descriptions than "relatives, drug addicts, and other losers that couldn't find opportunities in the US" per your exact words. You also fail to look past the slummy apartment and take note of the other two locales where I resided.

Last but not least you should probably take yourself a trip to Costa Rica and visit the Del Rey Hotel and you would realize that not many people chase hookers, they come right up to you.

Also your knowledge of "affiliated companies probably paid me separately"; Other than statements in the book where I do say that Millennium and Infinity did pay me separately for some of my services but Millennium did not pay for all, I am really curious to know what you imply by that statement?

Now since you are probably an accomplished novelist based on your book report I was interested in knowing what specific critique you have against the quality of my writing? Also when did you purchase the book? When did you read the book? What edition of the book did you read?

EOG readers don't care about your apartments. Some will be relieved to learn BOS didn't squander much money on them.

I merely implied that if BOS wasn't paying then you must have had funds from other clients.

I posted the summary as a service to EOG, not to bash you. You were a mostly innocent victim. But if you want a critique, these sentences are ungrammatical:

"media giants such as Jim Rome who was bringing in more new customers than any single source of media was the type of guy they needed to schmooze in Costa Rica."

"I met David that past spring and he really seemed not too impressive."

"As a CEO it had to frustrate David to have no real authority but he was a well paid puppet who earned his money since spending the past year under house arrest in St. Louis awaiting the betonsports.com trial."

"Why screw it up by doing so many illegal things where the list goes on and on of which I am sure the 22 counts that "G" faces in the St. Louis courts his all-world attorneys will have a tough time explaining more than a few of them."

There should be no charity in the name of his late mother because she is responsible for giving birth to him in the first place. Lastly, I just can't allow people to spend their hard-earned money on this voluminous crap, so maybe I'll try to get the whole version up for everyone to read for free, and he can sue me for copyright infringement.

KimLee,

Check out Geoffery Chaucer, William Faulkner, William Shakespeare, and Mike Lupica. All have different forms of writing. I know there were more than a few grammatical errors but the fact is you understood the book. I did a re-write and in the re-write I made the proper corrections. That is why I wanted to know which edition you read.

I appreciate critique but if it's just to slam on a few grammatical errors than let me put this to you. Babe Ruth held the all-time strikeout record for many years, does that make him a bad baseball player? No it just means he took more swings. My book has over 60,000 words and there were some mistakes. As for the legitimacy of the book you have the right to believe it or not. That is the right to free speech. If you want to shut someone up than that is tyranny.

So WTF do the above people have to do with you? All you ever accomplished in life was squeezing 40 words into 60-second slots.

Dawg Pound you are awful hostile and sorry that you are pissed off. If you don't like the book you are not forced to read it.

I am curious to know if you impose your morals on others and tell them not to gamble their hard earned money. The cost of the book is only $11.99.

sbbs, there is a reason for the pen name. I am sure you know who a I am. I didn't try to hide that with the use of my nickname. Your an intelligent person and sure realize that the pen name is for people not associated with BOS.

As for the 80% lies that is your perspective as there are numerous people that have enjoyed reading the book and understood the book is for entertainment purposes only. It's also noted in the book that places, people and descriptions of locations have been altered because this book is not to incriminate anyone again its for entertainment purposes.

Can we have a list of the people who claim to have "enjoyed" reading this marvel?

It's also noted in the book that places, people and descriptions of locations have been altered because this book is not to incriminate anyone again its for entertainment purposes.
So what is the purpose of this book? Why didn't you write something more interesting if it wasn't based on true events and true people?

I think you are well-intentioned to share your sincere perspective on BOS. Unfortunately most EOG readers don't care about the social life of an pseudonymous employee, nor your legal policy presciptions. They just want to know who stole their money (Kaplan, Carruthers, and various enablers).

"Geoffery Chaucer, William Faulkner, William Shakespeare, and Mike Lupica ... have .... more than a few grammatical errors"

Then post some. Seriously, what have you read by Faulker and Hemmingway?
