I Play. I'm pretty good, but not good enough to beat a real shark-type who plays 7 days a week. I'm good for a guy who hardly plays, i can make shots, i have to work on my positioning.

pool is similar to golf. the more you play, the better you are. ball speed is what kills most of us bar shooters compared to the pros.

I was ranked 9th in Michigan in the late 90's. I'm now just a dry(don't drink) hustler.

it was a very long day. tourney took about 5 hours and i was playing on 3 hours sleep, 6 beers, and 4 screwdrivers by the time i whipped him 3-0!~

paid my bills for a couple years back in the early 90's. mostly easy marks though. friday night in a redneck bar down the street from my house was always profitable! :LMAO

9th in michigan? how do you get to be ranked 9th in michigan on a pool league or something? some pretty good pool players come out of michigan and some top notch pool halls for you to say you were ranked 9th

me too nedrow. my game declines as the size of the table increases. i play 8 footer at home but mostly bar boxes for leagues and tourneys.

Born and raised on a snooker table, so 8 and 9 ball is very simple. English and playing the hook will make any good pool player look like a rookie in a hurry. In Ontario I won the south Ontario regional in snooker in 95, and 98'. Pool is just a natural sport.

the international pool tour looked promising for getting big money tourneys going, but the offshore gambling legislation made their big sponsors like partypoker pull out. ipt is still going, but not as big now. maybe they will get big in the future.

yeah the IPT gave lots of players false hope
derby city classic is the biggest pool event in the united states for a gambler i would figure a seasoned player like yourself would go and get all the action you could handle? from constant $20-$100 ring games and winner keep table to bet what you can afford to lose gaming up with someone 10ball,9ball,8ball,one hole,banks what ever your heart desires

i stay in the md, va, pa areas for pool.
as far as the leagues and gambling go, not sure about other areas but in the areas i shoot, i disagree with you on the lack of gambling. i would say a high percentage of the higher skill level players are more than willing to play for a few bucks. especially if they beat you in your match that night. :LMAO

if you dont believe me spend 4-5 weeks at the riveria late in may and 1st part of june and watch all the pool players walk bye and see how many of them actually game up:+clueless
its a convention filled with 6000 useless pool cues
take a vacation get out of your own state most seasoned players leave home every once in awhile
