royalfan, if your only qualm with using Matchbook is that your plays might get leaked, why not add a stipulation to the challenge rules that if that occurs, the challenge is off and all post-ups are returned? Or depending on how much you're +/- units at the time of the leak, either the money will be returned or forfeited by one party (to avoid you and the other party intentionally leaking them in order to get out of the challenge).

Or can't Matchbook simply hold the money and earn a commission, but not accept wagers on the challenge? I'm sure something like that could be worked out, if that's your only problem.

I don't see how it's safer to have some random poker player hold the money in his account for a year than a place like Matchbook...especially if they can lock it so no one can wager on the outcome...if, like you said, that's your only issue with posting up there.

I thought you were fairly sharp. If this did not wake you up nothing will.

The first point is that there is still not a soul that has 20(or 30 if I take the 200 unit option) together. One guy is going to be the main guy I deal with. The peanut gallery with 5k here and friends with a K there and all that shit isn't going to work.

As a result, matchbook is out of the question. I am not doing this so the public can see that I win. I am doing it to make 20k. I know I win, and I could give a shit if anyone believes it or not. I don't want people making side 100 buck wagers as that would tend for my actual plays to get leaked, which from day one I said will not happen or the party loses. If lot of people are involved that gets difficult to enforce.

I am not saying I don't trust Shrink. I think he would be trustworty. But sending 20k and knowing I will win the bet essentially trusting him for 40k is a bit much. No disputing that.

I don't know Negraneua, Ivey, Antonious, etc. at all, but if I can get a guy like that or Helmuth even to hold it in their stars or other poker account is that cool? Would like to get to know one of them anyway, and they like to bet sports too, especially Ivey so might be lucrative in some way down the road. I know that my brother might be able to work that out since he is well known in the poker world after winning the biggest online tourney ever.

No chance one of those guys stiffed if they held it where they are sponsored at.

Is this a comfortable possibility? I am not going to look into that option or bother writing up the rules until one of you pansies says that they are ready to go for 20k.

I knew this from day one. I think we all did. Even Skins, Dsethi, JoeyFitz, and Teazeman, who were requesting odds on the "yes" could not be so stupid as to think that this was a good bet for Royalfan or that it would actually happen.

My fault, I didn't see your question above the picture initially.

Like I said before, I'll wait until royalfan has a chance to read the proposed solution to his issue with Matchbook and respond accordingly before formulating an opinion on this situation and him personally.

I hope he's fine with posting up at Matchbook so long as no outsider can wager on the outcome, as it seems like a pretty simple solution. I hope that if he isn't OK with it, though, that he has a viable alternative to discuss. For the record, I think that the whole posting up with a poker pro thing doesn't qualify as one.

Still nobody ready to put up 20k to challenge me. I am not dealing with a bunch of people. Dealing with one person. Nobody has taken the challenge yet, but I am the pussy and the one full of shit. If OSU or WVU takes it we can work out different options to get the money part taken care. If matchbook doesn't take wagers on this and have the bet even show up on their options , that can be part of the deal for sure. If someone else wants to invest with that person, that is cool, but won't be allowed to see the plays. One person plus the bet moderator that is agreed on gets the plays. That is it. Someone else wants to see my plays, they can pay 20 grand as well for them.

And for the record, was a little drunk last night when posting the poker pro idea. Just brainstorming out loud. Don't see why it couldn't work like you guys, but whatever.

And if you got the money ready OSU, then you and I need to talk and discuss the alternatives and make agreements on where to send how much to. Since you are the investor taking the wager, that stuff is just between you and I. Having all these other people involved, just complicates it, so they can simply be financial investors on your end, but will have nothing to do with the bet as far as I am concerned.
