A new COVID-19 battle cry for May

565 lost US jobs for every COVid-19 death.
Now there's a report out of NY that 90% of people on ventilators die, so all the shutdowns, all the people out of work, which were based on the premise that if the hospitals get overwhelmed(and run out of ventilators, etc) will save lives was bullshit. No one is really being saved.

Its rough. Priorities are shelter, food, bills. Everything else comes secondary.

Everything is fucked up right now but we have to deal with what is happening. There is good in this world where people are helping out but there will also be evil in this world. Being good and positive is better than being evil and negative.

Even the NFL draft today is going to be weird and strange. Ron Rivera even was quoted on about how his family (wife and daughter) will help him tonight. Im assuming they're familar with their home set up more than anybody.

Health is more important than anything. We can debate about the economy for ages but what does it matter if people are passing away way before their time which not only impacts their loved ones but people who knew them. These people will never be the same.

Excellent post

Unbelievable. Probably something 2000 lost jobs for every death of someone who had 2 years or more to live anyways. And this is being repeated around the world. JK's favorite Costa Rica has been shut down massively too and they have seen six deaths in a country with 4 million people. Country depends on tourism for a large chunk of its economy, can't make anything from that when you shut down your borders and all national parks.

That just isn't a healthy way of thinking WildBill. That thought process is so faulty in my opinion

I can ask, how many will pass away in the future who had Corona and recovered and cant get past the flu or whatever they're dealing with in a few years? When there is enough data in 5 years to analyze this, I bet more people will die than usual.

I am not a believer this is a video game where your body can just level up and get back to normal especially when healthy people need ventilators to survive after contracting this virus.

That's ridiculous, if you had the flu last year, you are not still in a weakened condition, prob the reverse.

And that 565 number doesn't include the additional 4.4 million claims we saw released today.

This entire Georgia debacle with Trump now going back on his word about allowing Governors to do what they want leads me to believe everybody is just talking the talk. Nobody really has a clue on whats going on.

lockdowns are not worth it, Sweden shows that quite clearly. It's simply the wrong thing to do.

There is no debacle in georgia, the gov is doing the right thing.

Maybe so, but trump is a blowhard, and a pussy here. He likes to talk tough, business needs to be open, liberate whatever state, etc. the very next day after Georgia announces it, he warns about the dangers. Which is it? He doesn’t want the blame, but right there for you for a double heap of praise,

Felt like a weasel move by Trump.

He's hedging his bet.

Or better yet, he's like the slippery tout giving out both sides of the same game.

I agree, for him to tweet out free Mi, free MN, free VA, and then say this about Georgia is just not right. Trump has praised Cuomo, newsom, even the NJ guy, all of whom have gone way overboard on shutdowns, I suspect he likes anyone who praises him. IMO trump is getting terrible advice from those 2 clown scientific advisors.

Just once they need to get something right, then I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I wonder if the flip flopping is him keeping one eye on his re-election chances. Screws tightening a little?

What really gets me is every day he say's "I was told i have to shut down the country, that was a hard decision" which is untree, he never said that, ever, various states did that on their own and then they played follow the leader. Trump had nothing to do with it.

Even yesterday he said he strongly disagreed with the Georgia Gove - then he said "cant they wait a little while longer"? What's a little while, a week, 10 days, what difference does that make.

I'm getting sick of Trump, and I dont want to hear another word about ventilators, he wont shut up about them and it doesn't matter anymore.

Effective government could be the ultimate oxymoron

No, that would be successful gambler. In contrast, being a successful advantage player isn't oxymoronic, but they all don't succeed for various reasons -- the biggest being under capitalized and/or overbetting their bankroll so that they are unable to withstand game variance (the fluctuations which include downswings), and as a result go broke.

Those who have an edge, are sufficiently capitalized, and don't overbet their bankroll can succeed. Advantage players aren't gambling, just like casinos aren't gambling. [The word gambling implies playing at a disadvantage or if you prefer -EV (expected value). In contrast, advantage players make bets with a +EV.]

I hate exercise without competition.

As Heisenberg suggests, compete against yourself.

I've been competing against my self for years. I try to do more pushups, crunches, pull ups, curls, etc. then I did a few days before. I also try to walk, run, swim, or bike further or faster than a few days before. You should try to do the same. But, always keep safety in mind. Know you body well enough to know the difference between exercise pain and injury pain. Don't push for the new high to the point that you become injured. Because then it will be a very long time, if ever, that you reach that new high.
