Question from a lurker.
Next time tell those kids they should be protesting BLM instead.Somebody called the cops on buddy of mine in central jersey town holding a practice with 2 coaches and 12 kids, outdoors. He was hitting ground balls and fly balls to the kids, dangerous stuff.
I know which complex he was at, the field is not even closely surrounded by houses/road, it's a ways off. Somebody prob walking dog felt need to save the world. People suck.Next time tell those kids they should be protesting BLM instead.
Gotta feel for the kids, it’s been a very hard year to date for them.I know which complex he was at, the field is not even closely surrounded by houses/road, it's a ways off. Somebody prob walking dog felt need to save the world. People suck.
A month ago I asked my son if he wanted to go to Florida to try and hook up with a team there until IL opens. He said yes. We aren't going but I just wanted to get his thoughts.Gotta feel for the kids, it’s been a very hard year to date for them.
In nj youth usabl baseball is doing ump behind pitcher but not in softball.depends on the organization.Tournaments every weekend in the wisconsin dells and milwaukee area. Ages from 8u up to 19u.
Umps stand behind the pitchers mound to call balls and strikes.
2 man umpiring crews.
Onward and upward.

Problem is they are not directly behind , have to be to left or right of pitcherOf course it's not feasible, but I've always thought an ump would have a better idea of balls/strikes standing behind the mound as opposed to behind the plate. Easier to see high/low, inside/outside
This is the issue. Slightly off to the side. Not a good angle to call from. Plus more chances of getting hit by liners.Problem is they are not directly behind , have to be to left or right of pitcher
