I stopped making trips to Tijuana when I saw armed guards on the Mexican side sporting machine guns at the border crossing.

No thanks.

Nothing worse than a long line on a Sunday night when trying to return to the U.S.

Used to go there before Covid. Never had trouble. Maybe i was lucky. One player there made a large bet and had to wait a few hours for a bank run because the cashiers at Pueblo Amigo were short of money. I stayed in my own lane so to speak. Kept in the tourist zone, left when betting was done. Stories of gringos getting in trouble had a lot to do with getting drunk in bars or trusting strangers to help with your ATM withdrawals.

I remember years ago, my parents going on a trip to Acapulco. Now Acapulco is 2nd on that most dangerous city list. The cartels now run that town. Could the same thing happen to Cancun? Or Cabo? Nothing is impossible. The top 10 dominated by Mexico and Venezuelan cities.

I remember the sports books in Tijuana gleefully accepting $100 bills in the morning and then paying out your winnings in nothing but $20 bills at night.

I always like reading the comments in these links, you get a good picture of what’s going on.

That's (the comment section) the biggest plus to my online subscription of The New York Times.

Love the concept of participatory news and opinion.

Only one negative to the curated comment section of The New York Times: The moderators delete comments that include name-calling.

What a bunch of maggots!

Haha.

In the early nineties there was a legendary sports bettor named Hank. He once told of the times he would frequent the venue bordering UTAH to take advantage of the deflated Jazz lines. He would not hesitate to fly from tiJuana to Las Vegas for advantage. The Friday night Stardust broadcast on a clear night could be heard .The lines to re enter America was shorter. The sports book, however, did tack on a 1 percent (Tax).

I knew a guy at Pueblo who would be there every day trying to middle NBA totals.

Sometimes the spreads were as high as 3-4 points from his locals.

This was in the 90s as well.

you could past post in nfl, they would leave the game open until somebody reached the red zone, i saw them leave a game up until 1030 am once. it was almost 2nd qtr, we bet the under because they were only focused on the side

the software would also let you tease half times, had to keep it under 500 to avoid approval. this was in 1991. we would bet several 300 bets.

Tijuana country club was a great course and wide open, you could play it under 2 hrs because it was so wide open, 240 yard par 3. lots of honey bees on the course so was paranoid of being stung

I've been going to Tijuana for almost 20 years up until Covid shut things down. Haven't been there in 2 years.

Place is still jumping and still safe. Don't take my word for it. Just read all the many reviews at International Sex Guide website.
