They don't realize it yet but they just canceled college football forever. May come back. At a fraction what it was. No more money machine. Other options will emerge and a critical # of players, fans will opt out. NFL is on the clock. Don't make the same mistake. Nobody and nothing is too big to fail.

I'll take a stab. Quality prospects will choose paid minor league football or straight to the NFL. If the NFL falls then who knows what football will look like in the future. Possible it really gets canceled because of the concussions and other injuries. We are watching America fail in real time. Every aspect of our country.

Can't wait for The Walking Dead to resume filming.

They could say that any year. By not having college football someone who would have died in a car accident due to people driving to and from games was saved.

We were kind of heading to this anyways with players starting to get paid something. They could set up a minor league with age restrictions and have many of the schools be in essence their sponsors and benefactors. The schools could then offer scholarships but not be obligated to give them. Many of the kids would be full time pros but to keep it connected they could have some amount of players on scholarship and they would have reduced practice and activity requirements.

If they want to play, they know what they signed up for. You have the right to sit out. Are we really doing this though? Everything isnt Trumps fault for goodness sakes.

Are we going to cancel the entire thing until next year when things might just be like they are now? We have to function and go on with our lives.

This is not normal and not okay what's going on in America right now.

If the College season gets cancelled, the NFL will apparently put games on Saturday. If that happens, I hope they keep their Saturday spots in the future.

The early-window NFL action on Sunday is overkill.

Impossible to follow 8-10 football games played concurrently.

The biggest winner in all of this will be the NBA and NHL who might still be having the playoffs when CFB would be going on. Kirk Herbstreit got slaughtered for saying this might happen - in March

Your missing an issue in Epidemiology. .Some experts , a minority opinion admitedly, believe it is a mistake to quaranteen young healthy people. The need to get the flu immunity to help it die down. ..the so called Herd Immunity..The fact that the flu had massive spread in many countries irregardless of masks or social distancing partly confirms this theory. Why shut down businesses if the flu is g oing to spread anyway? Michael Leavitt is one Noble prize biologist who talked about this.
