All smack talk and bullshit aside: You ever give it a break? Even for a day? Fathers Day? A Sunday, a Saturday? More to life bro.

I called him the Energizer Bunny, he just keeps going, and going, and going, and going. Love his passion
Kind of like a guy i knew years ago who had a passion/mission in life to prove he could make a living betting horses to show. A fruitless endeavor.

A little different endeavor there. Doing that you can't be wrong more than once every 15 times or so (depending on the odds). With Bigrunner, he isn't right once every 15 times.

hung out with B.R on one of the arlingtongton race days.
was one of the nicest guys in the world.

we all talked about horses , sports . broads
all exchanged stories

never heard a mention of politics
so this seems a bit odd to me because we broke bread together

but was a gentleman and a true horse player

More posters ‘trigger’ the leftist,.. than any poster in the history of Eog...

look no further than his recent stalking of Alfie.

Trigger and passion are definitely the words used by those that agree with BR. Not by those on the right or those not consumed by politics.

Im a great guy, but I also have a great nose for Nazis and right wing racist. And when Trump entered the race for the presidency the stench of the Nazi's and racist idiots became stronger. An example I like to share. 80 to 85% of America stands with the dreamers, aka Daca. There's about 700,000 to 800,000 Dreamers. They're no different than you and I except they don't have a piece of paper. They've lived in America their whole life. They've jobs and pay taxes. They know no other country. Ask a racist right winger "Fair Warning" what they call the dreamers and they'll say "illegal brown people or aliens".

I won't remain silent in situations of ignorance and injustice, especially when it comes to Trump's right wing Nazis and Facist idiots.

national SOCIALIST German workers party

BR = Nazi
DPRK. North Korea is neither Democratic, nor a Republic.
It don't matter what the title is, it matters what they actually are. The Nazi's were Right Wing Fascists. That's why the Idiot Idolized them.
https://www.snopes.com/news/2017/09/05/were-nazis-socialists/

The plain truth, writes Historian Richard J. Evans in The Coming of the Third Reich, was that Hitler and his party saw socialism, communism, and leftism generally as inimical to everything they hoped to achieve:

Above all, the Nazis were German white nationalists. What they stood for was the ascendancy of the “Aryan” race and the German nation, by any means necessary. Despite co-opting the name, some of the rhetoric, and even some of the precepts of socialism, Hitler and party did so with utter cynicism, and with vastly different goals. The claim that the Nazis actually were leftists or socialists in any generally accepted sense of those terms flies in the face of historical reality.

years of seeing him around the track never heard anything bad said about him

Trying to figure out who you are? Btw, that was the Mike North radio show you were referencing in another thread. Mike North and his famous friend Fritzy were doing a remote from Arlington that day. Just after they interviewed Mr. D. I called in. Speaking of sports radio, My Dad actually taught Les Grobstein in high school for 4 years. He said Les would walk the hallways with his transitor radio and earphones. He was known to do play by play of the Cubs games in the hallways. Les is great.

Do you know Randy and Angelo from Maywood Park? Angelo passed away over 10 years ago. Randy walked around with a horrible hernia that perturded severely around his midsection. Very gross.

i knew Angelo since he was a little kid hanging around Sportsman Park hustling programs. You know asking people for their programs as they were walking out or looking in the garbage for them then selling the program for 50 cents to people walking in. Fat Geno of security at Sportsman always was chasing after him. They didn't like people hustling for programs.
He was a fixture at the tracks always hustling or borrowing money to bet with. Think he had some heart problem that did him in.

He did, no health insurance. I think he went to Holy Cross in Elmwood Park. Many years before he died Duke Johnston owner of Maywood Park hooked him up pretty good. A room on the backstretch and unlimited food at Maywood concessions. I gave Angelo many $20's. Considered it charity.

i don't know how old you are or how far back you go. Did you know Ronnie Marsh was living in a tack room at Maywood the last few years before it closed? He is totally busted. Then he was living on the backstretch at Hawthorne the last i heard.
God only knows how many people gave Angelo money over the years. Might be in the thousands.

Do you remember these FFA pacers at Maywood. Mostly Melvin, Baron Lancer, Denali, Childwood Hanover, Timely's Best Man, Sole Command. I remember the days of afternoon racing on Sundays at Maywood. Did you ever go to Oakbrook OTB?

Sure remember them all. i was around Maywood starting in 76. i was at all tracks on a everyday basis if they had harness racing until the late 80's. Then i started doing the t-breds every day until 95. Then i moved to Vegas. Will be back later tonite if you have any more questions. i will throw one name at you. Did you know Byron the nut? he is still around at Hawthorne. Plays in the handicapping contests. He goes bavk to the 70's too.

Think I know who he is. Once the OTB's opened I only went to Maywood and AP. Only went to Hawthorne for special occasions. I think I'm a few years younger than you. 55! I remember two brothers at Maywood. Joe and his brother who was a bustout. The bustout brother would watch the horses warm up and then he would come in and tell the usual people "this horse is so light up, he's juiced to the gill". Then he would ask to borrow $10 to bet it. Some many degenerates at the race track.

Any of you locals know who Jiggyjog George was. Or Ambrose the cop were.

Jiggyjog George would come to the track with his sister who was messed up from an accident, his Gf, his father and a couple close friends. One was named Robby Salvino? And Ambrose. George blew thru hundreds of thousands of his sister's settlement money. She got millions but was left a little betteroff than a vegetable. Jiggyjog George past away way too young about 10 years ago.

Never hung out at oak brook otb.
i have almost 10 years on you. i went to the first time they had Sunday racing in illinois. that was Washington park harness.
i never heard him called JiggyJog George. Yes you described that fat degenerate quite well. Pissed away so much of the sisters settlement but was always bragging about the scores that he made.
Since you spent much time at Maywood you must have known racetrack Phil who was there every night. He died a few years ago and owned the horse Ritmo back in the day.

George was loud. When he had a winner he would slap his rolled up program and shout Jiggyjog as his horse was approaching the finish line.

I knew of Racetrack Phil. He would always have the same sofa's just as you entered Favorites. Wasn't a fan of either George or Phil. I recall Phil always had a cigarette in his mouth. Never talked to the guy, but he was sort of a legend.

Some of them made it to East Coast Tracks. I remember Denali, Mostly Melvin, and Timeley's Best Man racing the NY/NJ circuit. The horse I remember the most coming from Chicago was a Top Pacer named Malice. It became my friend's favorite horse because of the way Track Announcer Jack E. Lee would call the horse coming from behind.

Good memory. I definitely remember Malice and his closing ability. Of course you probably remember Red Bow Tie. Before expanded cable I believe a New York superstition maybe WOR? had a New York harness racing replay show. Racing from Yonkers, Racing from the Meadowlands. Think it was hosted by Stan Bernstein or something like that. Tried to never miss that show.

Racetrack Phil had a gruff personality. Would really fire at the windows when he had it made many nice scores back in the day but like most horse players was busted at the end of his life. Phil was a good pool player when he was young. was good friends with Artie B. who was the best one pocket player in the country who went on to be a big mover in Las Vegas. VD knows Artie B.
