Interesting topic, I'm sure the definition of "bizarre" differs person to person. Dock Ellis once pitched a no hitter on LSD, doubt that ever happens again

In a 2017 game against the Chargers, Buffalo's Nathan Peterman threw 5 first half interceptions, not sure if that's a record, but it's pretty fucking bizarre

It probably gets broken at some point, but the Pats coming back from a 25 point deficit in the SB might last a long time

The opening odds start here
there are hundreds of pitching records from that era and before that we don't even need to bring up for obvious reasons

we don't need no Hoss Radburne references
If a record is meant to stand, all the more reason to throw it out there regardless of the conditional era.

back to back no hitters

That is mine

In order to BEAT it you have to throw THREE no-hitters in a row

First off - that means 3 straight CGs and these days if a pitcher throws 3 CGs for the SEASON that is something. Second - no bad bounces or fluke hits

I just don't see this one being beaten

I actually think his 315 LOSSES would be tougher to beat although for someone to beat the Wins they would have to average 25 wins/year for 20 years and that only gets him to 500

In order to beat it a pitcher would have to lose 20 games a season for almost 16 years and if someone loses 20 games for one season that is alarming. Two - maybe. If a guy loses 20+ 3 years in a row he is either cut or put into the bullpen and he is not going to have a 16 year career if he loses 20 a season

Cal Ripken consecutive game streak. 2632. How many Major League Baseball layers will even play that many games in there whole career

Ryan had 292 ? Losses. I don’t think anyone is within 125 wins of Young.

KC’s Jan Stenerud 103 yard FG attempt.

Their punter was injured, and at that time a missed field goal was NOT returned to the point of the attempt.
So, it was essentially a punt.

Because of the rule change, nowadays it’s a sure safety,
so Jan’s record is safe.

I think Joe DiMaggio 56 game hitting streak. These days, the media coverage would be relentless to anyone who would have a run at it. The pressure would be enormous.

Who was the A's pitcher who had 19 losses and they pulled him from the starting staff so not to psychologically
demoralize him with 20 losses? Think he was from the OC here in Cali?

The late Matt Keough, who just died the other day I believe.

Hmmm...

Matt Keough had 18 losses in 1982.

Looks like Keough's last start of the 1982 MLB season came on September 20th.

He could not get out of the first inning in a 10-3 loss to the Rangers.

Nobody will ever break Nolan Ryan’s career K record for reasons that need not to be explained

A pitcher would have to throw 250 innings and strikeout 1.5 per inning...............and that only gets him to 375. Knowing a pitcher would be lucky to get 33 starts in a season he would have to AVERAGE 7.2 IP to get to around 250 and there is no chance in hell that happens

Hack Wilson 191 RBI in a season is not gonna be easy to beat
