Blackhawks

Hittin bottom soon I think. They shouldn't be this bad. Maybe having the management forced out will give them a chance to take a fresh look at it and do one last round of selling before starting up again.

I’m not a fan of the Seth Jones contract. He’s not worth $9m/ year. He’s -9 for +/- already in just 6 games this year.
Also, trading Panarin was one of the worst trades in NHL history.

Long string of sellouts at the United Center snapped this past Sunday.

The Blackhawks were a hot ticket for 535 consecutive games.

BIRDIE would have made a fortune scalping tickets at Hawks games over the past 13 years.

And, oh yes, BIRDIE would appreciate Hawks fans cheering throughout the singing of Jim Cornelison's stirring rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner."

The pregame tradition has been the most exciting part of Hawks games this season.

The enthusiastic singing of the National Anthem is not in response to recent opposition of the song.

Chicago hockey fans have been belting out the song like no other city in America since the mid-1980's.

Chicago Blackhawks Here Come the hawks Lyrics

Here Come the Hawks, the mighty Blackhawks
Take the attack, Yeah, and we'll back you Blackhawks
You're flyin' high now, so let's wrap it up
Let's go you Hawks, move off
Now all look out, Here Come the Hawks,
Here Come the Hawks, Here Come the Hawks, Here Come the Hawks, Here come the Hawks

Here they come movin', weavin', flyin' high and throwin' spray,
Blades flashin' sticks crashin' tryin' for the play,
And the Blackhawks, take control,
There's a shot, AND A GOAL!

I really hope they don’t go full woke here and change the logo to be all-inclusive. There has been talk about this north of the border.

the fight song is classic.

My favorite Ex Blackhawk story of all time. Eddie like his booze and now playing for the Dallas Stars, got drunk and the police were called to a Dallas bar. Before being taken to jail, Eddie tried to bribe the cop with a Billion dollar bride! lol.

During the 1999-2000 NHL season, Ed Belfour was playing for the Dallas Stars. His time in Texas, however, wasn’t without incident.
“On March 8 [2000], an intoxicated Belfour, and a woman went to The Mansion at Turtle Creek,” a CBC report explained. “Belfour became loud and hotel security was called. The woman told hotel officials she was afraid of Belfour and was escorted to a cab.”
The situation, however, didn’t end once the woman left. If anything, Belfour’s issues were just getting started.
“When a guard tried to subdue Belfour, the former Vezina Trophy winner slammed the man up against the wall and put him in a headlock,” the story continued. “He continued to fight with the man until police sprayed him with pepper spray, a report said.”

Under ordinary circumstances, a police intervention and some pepper spray would probably be enough to defuse a drunken situation. Ed Belfour didn’t give up, though.
According to a CBS News report, Belfour “was placed in the rear seat of the vehicle and was seatbelted when he began attempting to lay down in the seat and putting his cowboy boots on the radio console … Shortly afterward, Belfour ‘threw up all over his chest.”
After police secured the goalie’s ankles to keep him from thrashing about, Belfour was apparently ready to start bargaining. “Belfour began ‘begging’ officers not to take him to jail by offering them money,” the story continued. He ” first offered Dallas police officers $100,000, then $1 billion, if they would not jail him.”
Ed Belfour eventually pled guilty to resisting police transfer and received 24 months probation and a $3,000 fine.

It was hard to watch Patrick Kane (from a remote location) and Jonathan Toews (from the stadium media center) field questions about the shameful controversy after tonight's game.

Final score: Leafs 3 Hawks 2 (OT).

Chicago still winless on the season.

I thought the low point during my lifetime was having to buy airtime for the radio broadcasts and literally giving away tickets on the team website.

Go to the team website.....get a code......go to the ticketmaster website and get 2 free tickets. My free pair of tickets were the level right behind the lower boxes. Even giving away tickets the building wasnt half full that night.

the no home games on TV thing is often mentioned but what rarely gets talked about is no 1st period radio broadcast of home games.....between periods 1 and 2 they did a 1st period recap show
