Romo is the master of the obvious. Horrible announcer.

Booger is just an idiot. Hard to believe they pay him for his stupid comments.

The opening odds start here
Steve Levy, Dan Orlovsky, Louis Riddick and Brian Griese are the favorites as the replacements, according to sources at the network.

Getting fired from espn is a badge of honor and a good career boost for many.
I'm talking about all the guys that have turned down 15 million to go the NBC or whatever, breese, manning etc.

If ESPN was just a sports network they would love to go there, but they're not, it's some weird sports/CNN hybrid.

TYVM Morgan William!!!
Remember the show "Dream Job"? Anish Sheroff's path to notoriety.

I do. Pisses me off to this day

So it is around late-June-ish, 1991. I am working at Bristol. Steve (son of great writer: Dave) Anderson is the Prez and is working in the building. I get a meeting with him. Just the 2 of us. ESPN liked people there to think of new ideas. This helped keep things fresh and also gave them great ideas for cheap.

I came prepared. I hand Dave a list of ideas. To say he could not have been less interested if he tried would be an understatement.

One of my ideas was this: People are always trying to get hired at ESPN for on-air talent. It is hard to scout the nation to find them. Why not have people send in tapes and we can judge them and the winner gets to spend a nigh/weekend doing SC. In other words: DREAM JOB!

Anderson looked over the list, that had a few more ideas on it, and the meeting was over not long after. I know where the sheet of my ideas went

Makes me mad knowing I handed him the concept of Dream Job YEARS before it became a reality but he spent zero time looking at it. Looking back on it I knew a few guys in Production and should have gone to them. I am 100% certain had they looked at it and liked it I would have stayed longer than I did. Que sera sera but still....................
