It's sad to see the sanitization of anything representing heritage. American Indians are slowly fading into the limelight as it is, and the ones I knew growing up had no complaints about Chief Nokahoma (Braves mascot, and a real native American) or any name that kept in mind the glory of the native Americans.

I got the Redskins reasoning, naming a team after a long used slur is kinda nuts. The Indians and Braves seem a bit dubious to me, but then again if a team was called the Asians or the Whites we might raise an eyebrow. The Chiefs is like calling a team the Presidents, don't think that needs a change.

whites and Asians are combined more than have the earths population......indians and their counter part braves are a dying breed on their way out......it's a huge compliment to name a team after them and they for the most part agree with that....it's white liberals who are pushing for name changes.....you, kane, bigrubber, winkydouche,blueline and the rest of the white knights here think they should speak for the tribe...it's insulting to them but you are all white and liberal so you know whats best for them
