Here is the biggest problem in all of this. Sports is entertainment. Period. You cant debate or argue this fact at all. When there are empty seats what then does it become?

Do you really think or believe people will give anybody the respect they deserve if they do win it all? Of course not.

Sometime 2021, if you wish to do things, go out, etc, you will wear a bracelet indicating you've been vaccinated. Until then, I agree, it's all awash.

Everybody is in store for a rude awakening. I really really dont think people understand how pathetic things are right now. When there are none to 5 thousand fans cheering on a team it just doesnt feel right. I exactly cant comprehend what Im watching with fake crowd noise either.

Every pitching mound has BLM written on it, every basketball court has black lives matter written on it, I'm sure the NFL will do something similar, either get used to it, or stop watching sports. And the word is spelled themselves, you illiterate, ignorant, scumbag piece of human waste

MLB is pathetic trying to tie into BLM. Its not like the NBA where its 75% black. MLB is about 10% black.

Got to hand it to the Giants reliever Coonrod. It takes a real rebel to go against their peers. Then not be a coward with some phony apology afterward (like Brees).

I get it but I dont think anybody really comprehends how pathetic this is. This is bad.

Who cares what you think about how sports look to YOU? I think your endless threads about making money that end up in failure are pathetic but it does no harm. Same with this year's version of sports. We want something to watch and will take this for now.

I don't know. I do it for entertainment. If you arent reading or responding whats the point?

I don't think people really understand how bad things are now.

I'll tell you exactly what will happen. They will wind up back tracking and cancelling the season at some point. You can bet your kids on it.

watching a game is not the same . it is like eating a peanut butter sandwich with no jelly LOL .. at least we can still bet on it.

Because you say it's bad they should just shut down? Look it's bad in some areas no doubt. But inside these bubbles for sports it sure seems controlled. All these European leagues faced the same negativity and all of them are finishing up little health drama. Now the US leagues are doing the same. What's clear is once you get a controlled bubble this works out generally. If you don't control it to start with you get problems like MLS did. The NBA seems ok despite 5% testing positive before coming into the bubble. Once inside pretty clean so far.

Maybe that's a lesson for everyone. It's not ideal playing in empty stadiums and locked away from the public but it works. And this isn't the only industry that can learn from this. Meanwhile most of us will take this for now. We don't want this two years from now, but for the moment getting all the sports running is about as good as we could expect, stop being so negative about it.

Sure we do, it’s been a long four+ months. I watched the Cubs and a little of the NBA restart last night. What I’ve seen so far is crap though. Many want to watch sports to get away from everyday life, now we are blasted with BLM and other issues. I’m afraid that we will settle for that in the long run. The sports we had, those days May be long gone.

Life is weird. I get it. I battle back and forth like many do about what the hell is going on in our country. Cutouts of fans in the stadiums. Lol. The kneeling. At the end of the day I am for health first. When Soto tested positive for covid it provided some clarity for me. This is no joke. You can take all the precautions necessary but still get it. Nobody knows the long term effects either of the virus. Winter will only bring more uncertainty in half of America. Nothing will ever be equal, ever. In all walks of life. A woman sleeps with a ton of men she is considered a whore but when a man does it he is a pimp and big time. When you're driving at night and a cop car is following you, runs your plate and notices a DUI on your record, there is a more likely chance you're going to get pulled over even if you're doing everything right.

What gets lost in the sauce is there are incredible people just living life and doing the best they can without getting involved in all the bullshit from health care workers to retail to people just struggling to survive the right way, these people matter.

There isn't much difference between 95% of the guys in the league and the being cut cut at the deadline.

Players like Malcolm Jenkins shouldn't be on any roster.

WildBill - I'll add that all sports have been sliding some in the level of play for a decade now. It is hard to overcome a delay like this and expect the quality we are accustomed to. Actually I think we have been settling for a while now.
