Pandemic and religious themed in 4 parts. About 8 hours? Gary Sinise the male star. Molly Ringwold female lead. Of Course the Devil sets up shop in Vegas.......LOL
 
A bit of an indirect connection, but the 2009 Surrogates with Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell.

The connection being people physically holed up in their homes participating in the world indirectly through technology, albeit via surrogate robots rather than just on the internet.

Actually would be one conceivable (in the sci-fi multiverse anyway) way to handle a persistent pandemic while keeping the economy going, athough that was not the underlying premise for the 2009 movie.
