I quit on the NBA for the most part when Kobe and Shaq couldn’t keep it together for the sake of winning; so correct me if I’m wrong, but that college to pro coach thing doesn’t work out much does it?

What happened to all of the previous concentration over JJ? Perhaps his attitude cost him a symbolic chance at a high profile head coach right out of the gate.

It's the exact same scenario with Coach 'K' when Kobe was there. They waved a bunch of zeros at him, 'K' thought about it long and hard and ultimately said no.

Hurley just re-did his deal for 33 million. There's no better job in the country right now than the UConn men. Players recruit him.

No insight, I just put myself in his position. He undoubtedly sees what happened to Vogel and Ham. Geez, Vogel was canned 2 years
removed from winning a championship. So he goes to the Lakers fired after 2-3 years, then what? Scrambling to find a job in the MAC?

6 years at $70m declined. Looks great on paper but I wonder if he either mightve expected more or ultimately was beyond loyalty than money and eyeing the threepeat was where his sights are set.

JJ and LeBron do a podcast together but imagine a potential head coach with no experience and how it would sit for the self proclaimed goat and Anthony Davis.

Both- loyalty and wants to stay on the upper east coast. Chance at a 3 peat and Karaban coming back now.
He's making almost 6 million a year, not too shabby
Who wants to coach an aging Lebron who wants a say in everything, and Davis who misses 30 games a year.
They aren't even a top 3 team in the West alone. No 1st round pick 2 out of the next 4 years.

Aside from the money, this was the exact same scenario as Coach 'K'...and no doubt the Hurley's got his opinion about this move.

I realize Hurley has won B2B, but going pro and forever being removed from UConn would hurt his legacy.
