BLUE and I attended the Whitney Rec Center on Missouri Avenue.

Seedy sides of towns/cities are all relative.

Las Vegas is relatively safe, considering the 24/7/365 nature of a gambling city.

I was born on the south side of Chicago.

Early years at 83rd and Peoria.

Not safe to return to the old neighborhood these days.

The West side and South side are dangerous 24 hours a day.

Most young African-American kids in Chicago don't consider themselves "ghetto."

They flee to the suburbs, if provided an opportunity.

Brings to mind my favorite J. Cole song . . . "the neighbors think I'm selling dope."

[Spin up "Neighbors" by Cole on YouTube. The music video version has the best visuals . . . there's another version on YouTube with the lyrics on screen, for folks who don't have an ear for the patois. A/k/a "closed captioning for white people," lol.]

statistical information has gone down hill ...i really think fan duel and draftkings bought everyone out so it is harder to get the info you want.

i wish CSW was back in business. Maybe KW will fix that next year for NFL and other sports

YEARS ago we stayed at The Stratosphere for T-giving. You go outside at night and it looked like Communist Russia - as well lit as it was.

When Shrink started this site, he had a gathering at the Golden Nugget. I flew into town and had a cab drop me off at the Stardust, so I could pick up those red football books they gave away that had the entire rotation for both CFB and NFL games in it.

I picked some up and since it was about 2P, I decided to WALK from the Stardust to the Golden Nugget. Seriously. I felt safe doing it during the day. I knew if I did it at night my family would have to come ID what was left of my remains.

When my Sis first moved to Vegas they got a place off 15/Craig Road - because they did not know any better. They moved about a year later. They came back after a few years and moved to Summerlin - staying as far away from NLV as one can get.

I golfed one time at Nellis AFB. Driving the streets to get there........YIKES! Same thing when Shrink got me into see Jay Cohen when he was there (An experience I will NEVER forget).

All the Chicago city dwellers who go to Mich on vacation speak how the crime is overstated, like they are justifying it.
