EOG’s Pro Football Contest Presented by BetDSI - Week 4 thread, official lines, etc.

Greetings players. Week 4 lines will be posted tomorrow evening. Currently Minnesota at Houston and Pittsburgh at Tennessee is off the board due to covid reasons. If there is no line on these two games, then obviously they will not be part of the week 4 selections. Per the rules, if there is a line on either of these two games, and you select one of the teams involved , then the game must be played by Tuesday, Oct 6 for it to count in the contest standings, otherwise, you will get zero points for that selection..

Stay tuned.

Posted about this in the week 3 thread. Even if WG posts an outlaw contest line (which they often do when qbs are injured). We don't need any bingo square type contest lines for this contest.

What happens if we play the Thursday night game, then one of our games Sunday is postponed after we turn the selections in?

It looks like the NFL intends on contesting the Steelers-Titans game on either Monday or Tuesday. As long as it is played by Tuesday, then if used in the contest, there will be action. If you choose either PIT/TENN and it happens not to be played by Tuesday, then you will get zero for the game. Stay tuned.

I know it’s not your rule so don’t be offended by this. There is zero reason to ever pick a Thursday game- the risk of a game getting postponed is too great if all of the picks have to be turned in at once. I’m sure it’s something that wasn’t considered in Vegas.

Yes, agreed, that it is a quirkiness of the Westgate contest. I'm unsure how Circa addresses this. When I was in the Westgate, I never used a Thursday game for the reasons you state. I can remember a few instances (outside of 9/11) games being PPD on a Sunday but played by Tuesday. I believe a game in SF was relocated to AZ due to smoke from fires, snow in Minn relocated their game to Detroit and finally a game from Buffalo was moved to Minny? But all of those were played by Tuesday.

Circa gives a one time exemption before the deadline. Sounds like more of a PITA for a basic contest.

Anyhoo, here are their rules - https://proxy.kellyinvegas.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Circa-Sports-Million-II-Rules.pdf

The Oct 27, 2003 MNF Miami/SD game was moved to Sun Devil stadium in Tempe because of fires in the San Diego area. It was played as scheduled on Monday, and so counted in the Hilton contest, however previous bets were no action because of the change of venue.

Thanks for the correction. I know one of the games affected by snow was played on a Tuesday in Detroit after the Metrodome's roof collapsed. I forget the other circumstance, but Buffalo having to play at Minny seems to be my recollection. I'm assuming those two Tuesday contests counted in the Westgage/Hilton at the time.

Circa handles it the same way as WG.

I think since I've been involved with Hilton/LVH/WG, Buffalo was involved with a game that postponed but played before Tuesday and also had a site change because of several feet of snowfall.

Circa handles it the same way as WG.

Circa doesn't handle it the same way as WG. Games not completed from the original schedule by Tuesday 1;59AM are graded as a push. Rule 15 below:

  1. Solely for Contest purposes, all games are “action” despite any change in a game’s location. If a game deviates from its originally scheduled time and location, the game must be completed by 1:59 AM on Tuesday of the Contest Week in order for it to be eligible to be graded as a “win”. Games that are not completed within the “Contest Week” will be graded a push for the Contest and awarded one half (.5) points. A “Contest Week” shall mean seven (7) consecutive calendar days starting on Tuesday at 2:00 AM and ending on the following Tuesday at 1:59 AM.
