EOG's Grand Challenge presented by BetDSI (E$ is our April contestant)

Emergency meeting is over.

We took JIMMY's advice and amended Rule #4.

Rules:

  1. Contestant will post 30 plays in 30 days (one play per day) starting the first of the month.
  2. Games must be played by month's end.
  3. Major North American team sports only: NFL, CFL, NCAAF, NBA, WNBA, NCAAB, NHL, MLB, MLS and NWSL.
  4. Full-game sides, run lines and totals -110 or LOWER.
  5. Contestants are graded against Pinnacle numbers at the time of post.
  6. Must hit 60% or better to be declared a winner of the $1,000 prize.
  7. Cannot play a game more than once or both sides of the same game.
Sorry to make you convene an emergency meeting, but thank you for the clarification.

Final score: 77-66, Nebraska.

E$ improves to 6-0.

The boys at BetDSI asked the question today, "What's the best start ever in EOG's Grand Challenge?"

My response, "Only ComptrBob knows for sure."

Sidenote: E$ has been perfect in this space over the past six days.

Bravo!

However, over the same time frame in EOG's Best Bet thread, E$ is a documented 2-4 with losses of 2.4 units.

E$ is living right.

That’s a better record than Rail over the past week….

Pick#7
MLB - Dodgers -1.5 (-109)

The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how good I get, I’ll never be as good as a wall.
- Mitch Hedberg

Pick #8
MLB Twins/Royals OVER 7.5 (-102)

A late run in the bottom of the 8fh ends hopes of extra innings fireworks and KC edges Minnesota 2-1 in a pitcher's dual. E$ will try go get back on track tomorrow but is still well ahead of the pace at 6-2.

It doesn’t matter what temperature the room is, it’s always room temperature.

Pick #9
MLB Cardinals-110

Bitten by a second straight 2-1 final, this time by the feisty Pirates, E$ drops his 3rd consecutive. That 6-0 start was certainly needed as his success rate thankfully is still 67%.

An escalator can never break, it can only become stairs.

Pick #10
MLB Brewers/Rockies OVER 10.5 (-110)

I hope E$ runs out the grounder.
I will run out the grounder just for you WADE (and maybe some people looking for fades.)

No joke today though, this has turned into a dumpster fire and a train wreck all rolled into one.

Pick #11
MLB Twins (-109)

6-4 two more times gets the $$. LFG.

Blowing a 4-1 lead, it continues to be topsy turvy for Minnesota who falls to Detroit at Target tonight 7-6. E$ continues to be streaky suffering his 5th consecutive loss after 6 wins out of the gate.

One moment of realization is worth a thousand prayers.

Rockies/Padres OVER 8.5 (+100)

Thank you sir. I think you made history. No contestant has won their first 6 then lost their next 6. Hope you start winning again.

E$ definitely set himself up for history, and I hope he wins his next 3 or 4 games to put him back on pace. Talk about a tale of 12 games.

A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.

Pick #13
MLB - Giants/Yankees OVER 7.5 (-110)

E$ deservedly vaults back into the win column and halts a 6 game losing streak to inch back over .500 thanks to 2 timely Lee HRs.

I don't have a girlfriend, but I do know a woman who would be really mad if she heard me say that.

Pick #14
MLB - Royals/Yankees OVER 9 (-102)

E$ runs into a Cy Young cookie Carrasco and the Yankees bash 4 homers in a quick 4-1 win. E$ is now 7-7 through 14 selections.

My friend was showing me photos when he was younger, every photo you have is when you were younger---Mitch Hedberg
