First trip to Costa Rica coming up next week

I am traveling with THE SHRINK to CR next week for the big conference and I wonder what to expect. I am thinking I will feel like Jethro in Beverly Hills on this trip. What will I find surprising and what will I fuk up? Can I get a cheap massage? I do not have to worry about Busch beer any longer so that will not be a factor. What about violence? What am I getting myself into here? What kind of temp this time of year? Will we have air conditioning? :smokesmal

How about some of you CR residents or frequenters speaking up?

I am looking forward too, Judge. I'll take your word for it. I think you should know better than anyone. We'll be staying at the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel San Jose I believe.

You will be a good distance from the city. Very safe there. Doubt if you will even go to any of the iffy areas. Make sure you and Shrink keep a night open for dinner.

BTB, I'll be a long way from my mom and cook ya see. :D I have came to like these hills and hollars around here. My last trip out of the US sent me to Okinawa and then after I was there for awhile and ready to come home, I was told, No, you need to stay a little longer because of some damn war in the desert. Sure hope I don't get a wake-up call like that next month. :smoke

The Marriott in San Jose is a first class place. Bill Clinton has even stayed there when he visited Costa Rica.

It is very hot there this time of year. Better have some Powerade around if you plan on spending a lot of time outside. You'll need A/C for sure.

As far as a cheap massage, ask one of the cab drivers to take you to Eros or Lucy's. They are not too far from the San Pedro Mall where all the sportsbooks are. $60 at the door for an hour, and whatever you want to tip at the end.
