My Dad was baptised Catholic. I pretty much went my own agnostic way. Only time I am in a church is for casino night. If I wandered into one on a real worship day I may burst into flames, or the priest may punch me in the nose.

Right. AM still asleep. Schedules show Cleveland at home for the duration after today with Tampa Bay and Chicago coming in. Boston and Yanks road and home next week with Yanks and Boston chewing eachother up next wekend. Schedule favors Cleveland. NO and NO on Boston and Yanks looks like a play.

Yes, because it appears one will not make it. Pale hose and Injuns fight for div, then loser should get wild card. So either Yanks or Red Sox should miss. Trouble is risky 2 units for a 1/3 of unit return.

Well when I saw 15 replies I figured it would be debating how this qualifies as free money, especially with OF the resident scalper involved, didn't think it would be discussing religion.

As for "the answer"


A couple ways to approach it.

Can bet the Yanks and Sox NO and hope that Chi or Indians don't completely melt down and allow both Yanks and Bosox to both make it.

Or you could take the Indians right now and then have a book somewhere that allows you to bet series prices and then take the White Sox in that season ending series, where they(white Sox) will undoubtedly be a dog. Of course that one is more risky since Cle could still lose that series and still make the play offs. But it also opens up the shot to win both those bets... the NO future, and the series win by White Sox.

A third option is to bet the NO on Yanks and BoSox, and then place a small saver on Cle That could be just big enough to still make a small profit on the yanks and Bo Sox and break even if those two teams make it and cle fallas apart. (with another saver ticket on the White Sox in the seires as well, as by that time the race will be a lot more developed especially in the head to head between Cle/ChiSox)

Either way is a massive overlay, as Cle has a 2.5 game over both those teams, so for them to not make it they really have to go bad, and for the White Sox to not make it, they would really have to go bad, AND probably be swept by Cle to not even make the Wild Card.

Ya I am being strupid, they took them down because games are being played. But IMO they still had some errors in their numbers.


Hopefully they put them up adjusted for the remainder of the season.

The double no was the way to go. Scary part is Tampa swept Injuns last time in Cleve. Would have done it but just not into risking 2 units for 1/3 unit. Anything can happen. Effectively you are making a who gets the wild card bet, East no -6.00.

Another thing that bothers me is Elarton is on the sked to pitch tomorrow vs. DRays. They have crushed him twice recently. I think this was more gamble than scalp, no, I know it is.

It's a fun play. the world series of attrition for the price of lunch money.

KC loss. Yank and Red Sox wins just tightened it all up. Might look for a series buy-out later in the week if Cleveland lays a one week egg.

I never have fun laying 6-1. Much more fun getting it. My biggest concern, more than ever, MLB has managed to get Yanx/Red Sox in post season, even face each other so many years in a row. Why? $$$$$. Not that it is all fixed, but just seems to be a Sox/Yanx post season battle as of late. All good battles though, as West has become letdown with A's folding. Would have been great 3 division race and all live for wild card. Good luck and have some fun.

Well the Cle loss hurts, but in case we need to buy a saver ticket I have to think they are on the other side of 700 now, so a small gain there, but we lose a game in the standings to both East teams. Obviously we don't want to "waste" money on a saver. We want the Sox and Yanks to lose everyday, and we want the Indians and White Sox to win every day.


Could get sticky in that season ending series, but with Cle at home, I can't think they get swept. And with Chi winning today (if they can hold on)they hold their 4 game lead in the Wild Card over the Yanks and BoSox.
