Kane....give us a Dolphins grade for their overall first rounders.....I would say above average....not great but OK in my opinion....

Tua's got a broken down body and he hasn't played a down.

The Dolphins medicals on him were very positive, their doctors said his injured hip looks almost the exact same as the other one, there's also a good chance he wont even play this season, ley his body completely heal, but his medicals were better than what most thought they would be

Pete's right, it really all comes down to what Tua ends up being. On paper I liked what they did, a potential franchise QB, a badly needed o-lineman, and i was a bit surprised they went DB with their third pick, but if the kid can play, it's a good pick. They still have a bunch of picks remaining so we'll see what they do, they could use an edge rusher and a RB, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with Dobbins of OSU, but the whole key to this draft is Tua, if he's the real deal, it's a great draft

I can tell you fans down here are ecstatic, there would have been a riot had they taken Herbert. For the first time since Dan Marino retired, it feels really good to be a Dolphin fan right now

Dolphin fan as well. Feel like the Tua pick was a ticket seller kinda thing. Hopefully I’m wrong. The head scratcher to me was Austin Jackson at 18. Most of what I read states he’s a two year project. So let’s take a nicked up QB and follow with a project tackle. Dunno that seemed a little odd to me. But the kid from Auburn the CB, thought that was fairly solid. But like Kane said, at least we got some life.

I don't think the Tua pick had anything to do with selling tickets, remember, the likelihood is that Fitz is the QB this year while Tua sits, of course there's always a chance he plays at some point, but Miami has been linked to this kid for two years, he was the guy they wanted, and were able to get him. I've heard some good things about the tackle from USC, of course there's always a chance he's West Coast Soft, but I don't think he was a reach and it's a position of need, and the DB from Auburn with the impossible to pronounce name looks like he'll be a nickel back. I really like what they did, they still have 3 picks in the next 2 rounds, I know they're looking at a RB, and more than likely one of Swift, Dobbins, or Taylor will be there when they pick in the second round. But this draft is all about Tua, if he can stay healthy and have the career most think he'll have, that makes this a great draft regardless of whoever else they end up with

F.U. Ravens

My heart sunk when they took Dobbins, they had needs everywhere except RB. I was hoping Miami would take him with the pick they spent on Hunt, they already drafted a tackle, they desperately needed a RB, they got too cute figuring Dobbins would be there at 56. Getting Tua makes it a good draft regardless of anyone else, but for a team desperate for a RB, to not get any of the top guys is very disappointing, I also would have liked a WR, the draft was so deep with receivers, they could have missed out on the top 5 guys and still gotten a good one, I would have been happy with either Higgins or Pittman, but next year I believe they have 2 firsts and 2 second round picks, that's when they can get some weapons for Tua

Well, they didn't get a back in the draft, but they just traded for a pretty good one. The Dolphins have traded a fifth round pick to SF for RB Matt Breida according to Adam Schefter. I love the move, Breida is really good, and if he was in this year's draft would have been picked way before the fifth round, love the value Miami was able to get, he's only 25, so a lot of miles left on his tires

I think the last first round QB who didn't play in their rookie year was Carson Palmer. Tua will make too much not to play by midseason. A team that would be a great fit for Fitz is NE, no way Miami would trade him to the Pats though.

I guess it all depends on how Fitz plays, and how well the team plays, if they're 2-7 and they feel Tua is ready, I'm sure they'll put him out there, but if somehow they're 5-4 and have a shot at the postseason and Fitz is playing at a high level, then might as well keep Tua on the bench. Also, how many of those first round QB's were coming off a major injury their senior year? The Fins really need to be cautious with Tua, Brian Flores is the real deal coaching wise and I have faith that he and his staff will do the right thing

Obviously the one who won’t play this year (barring injury) is Love in GB.

Fitz cannot be counted upon.

That is why he is on his 10th(???) team

The good thing about Fitz is, he's a pro, his teammates love him every where he's played, I've never heard one negative thing about him. He's not a great QB by any means, but if you rank them, he's probably between 16-18, and he'll be a great mentor for Tua, Fitz is smart enough to know why he's here, one of the reasons is, he's seen it all and done it all, he'll have no problem taking the kid under his wing, next year Tua is the starter and Fitz understands this
