Great commentary ... "Tea Party" rallies had nothing to do w/ Taxes

Michael Oneal and Janet Hooks at The Chicago Tribune actually got that the teabagging events were GOP-led anti-Obama events. It was hard to miss as the talking point of the day from so many of the Republicans was that Obama is a fascist. And, I think the vitriol spewing from the teabaggers caught many reporters by surprise. The Tribune reporters also point out that this GOP strategy is risky (but, it's the only strategy they've got):

Across the country, Republicans and their conservative allies sought to ignite a grass-roots rebellion against President Barack Obama on Wednesday, staging scores of Tax Day "tea parties" to demand tax cuts, lower federal spending and smaller government.

But the effort came with a risk: In the current economic crisis, with half a million or more jobs vanishing each month, many Americans seem less concerned about how much Washington deducts from their paychecks than whether they will have a paycheck at all.

"Nothing is as pressing a concern as the economy," said GOP pollster Whit Ayres, noting that even among Republicans the political salience of the tax issue is not what it once was.

At issue is whether the anti-tax, anti-government spending message makes Republicans seem out of touch with present-day reality.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-tax-...

There isn't really an issue: Republicans are out of touch with the present-day reality. That's why Republican leaders like Michael Steele and Eric Cantor deny we're even in an economic crisis. That's why every House Republican and almost every Republican Senator voted against the stimulus bill. They don't think the economy is tanking. You'd think the statistics on unemployment and foreclosures would cause concern. But, facts don't matter to zealots.

And, as we saw yesterday, hating Obama, not fixing the economy, is the GOP's top priority.

This is why i fled the GOP. They are all about winning little stupid battles instead of seeing the big picture and winning the war. They have no message what so ever and get all their material and talking points from Rush and Fox.
This is why people laugh at them now and the funniest part is that they do not want to hear about or talk about the last 8 years like it never happened or something.

The Tea Party's are the "Right Wing" version of the anti-war protests of the Bush administration years,a colossal waste of time and effort.
While people use their energy, and vent the machine rolls on.The TP's are a way of herding, and controlling dissent, and set up an us vs them mentality, assuring that a wide united movement doesn't emerge.
The commentary below lays it out for us:

Don't Fall For the Old
Divide and Conquer Trick

Wednesday April 15,2009
From:
http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2009/04/dont-fall-for-old-divide-and-conquer.html

The powers-that-be are trying to distract us from the looting of our wallets by the big banks by creating a left-versus-right, us-versus-them drama.

Americans from across the political spectrum are furious at the financial elite who have robbed us blind, and their enablers in government.

While at the moment, conservatives are getting more press, those on the left are just as angry. For example, leading progressive Glenn Greenwald wrote an essay entitled "The virtues of public anger and the need for more" cheering the fact that Americans are starting to get in touch with their righteous anger at being ripped off.

Liberals have launched their own version of the tea party protests calling for the big banks to be broken up.

And many leading economists and policy experts have thunderously railed against Obama's continuation of Bush's cover-up-the-truth, too-big-to-fail, stick-it-to-the-taxpayers approach to the economic crisis.

On the conservative side of the aisle, Ron Paul's media coordinator said that the mainstream Republican party has tried to hijack the tea party movement and has "co-opted" its message. He warns against letting the movement be diverted:
It's important the people at the grassroots level stick to our guns and say no when they try to co-opt our message....

Bringing in someone like Gingrich takes away from the message. Newt Gingrich enabled George W. Bush, he enabled the big spending...
And as Michael Rivero has written:
Beware this "left wing versus right wing" dichotomy. This is an attempt to trick us into arguing with each other instead of uniting against the common cause of our problems...

The only real divide is the one mentioned at the very top of this article. The one percent that owns it all against the 99% of us being driven into poverty. The poor against the oligarchs.
The poor against the oligarchs. To my friends on both the left and the right, I urge you to remember that folks on the other side of the aisle are not the problem. As honest people on both the left and the right agree, the real problems are:
  • Lack of honest disclosure about the shenanigans of the financial giants
  • Failing to prosecute the criminal actions of those companies and their big wigs
  • Failing to break up zombie insolvent companies
  • Slipping trillions of dollars into the hands of the richest and most powerful companies under the table
  • Gaming the numbers
  • And continuing to pursue failed economic policies even after they've been proven counterproductive
If we fall for the divide and conquer strategy, where idiots on both sides try to focus our anger on the "other team" instead of the real culprits, we will get distracted, lose direction, and thus became easy to ignore and control. Then the powers-that-be will be able to continue pickpocketing us for years to come.

Let it burn ....

Rome is burning as we speak !!!
Sometimes I think you speak with a:

Forked tongue

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
<!-- start content -->

Forked tongue of a Carpet Python (Morelia spilota mcdowelli)

A forked tongue is a tongue split into two distinct ends at the tip; this is a feature common to many species of reptiles. Reptiles smell using the tip of their tongue, and a forked tongue allows them to sense from which direction a smell is coming.

The image has given rise to the expression "to speak with a forked tongue", meaning to say one thing and mean another or, in more general terms, to act in a duplicitous manner.

Survival Acres blogger knows the deal,as he states the reality of protests effectiveness in the last paragraph below:
White House Quivers At Tossed Tea Bag
April 15,2009
From:
http://survivalacres.com/wordpress/?p=1669

A demonstration against government waste and high taxes outside the White House on Wednesday[4/15/2009] was halted after a suspicious package was thrown over the White House fence.

U.S. Secret Service officers immediately cleared Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest and Lafayette Park just north of the White House shortly after 2 p.m., forcing about 2,000 protesters to the sidewalks north of the park. Journalists at the White House were ordered back inside the press room.

A robot was inspecting the package, which the Associated Press reported appeared to be a box of tea bags. Tossed package ends D.C. ?Tea Party?
More evidence that ?protests? are a complete waste of everyone?s time (and how stupidly easy they are to shut down). And how cowardly (and over-reactive) our nations leaders really are. I bet any one of those protesters would have simply picked up the ?suspicious package? and took it home. To make tea.

What was everyone doing out there yesterday then?
This was an organized herding of opposition sheep, like the anti-war protests were designed to do during the Bush administration.Keeping people out-front,and busy assures that a true revolution, which isn't carefully controlled and infiltrated doesn't brew.
BTW are you Docs "pilot fish"?;you seem to echo his posts quite often.

Tax Protest / Tea Party F.A.Q.

What is the tea party protest?

A better name for them, credited to Andrew Sullivan, is "Tea Tantrums" because there is no clear reason why...'>I guess the lazy bums at the "Tea Parties" need to get a damn job... bunch of damn losers !!

Your damn right it was an organized opposition but it was useless in less you are going to fight the real problem and thats the Fed.Whats so funny is that fox news keeps saying over and over again that it is not a right wing gathering but all you see is the socialist signs and then find out that indeed it was organized by the right.
I don't know about being doc's pilot fish but like him i love making you right wing nuts look in the mirror and will never let you forget what your boy Bush did for the last 8 years. You can cry all you want about him not being president anymore but we are in all these messes now because of him and you cannot erase the last 8 years as much as you try to.

Who's a right wing nut?,and Bush surely wasn't "my boy",get a clue.
The point of describing it as an organized opposition is that this whole "Tea Party" business was engineered to allow angry masses of people to let off steam, just as the anti-war protests during the Bush years did;neither movement leads anywhere it's done for its own sake, and leads to nowhere ultimately.
What is Docs role here on EOG anyway? He claims to want to debate, but if something disturbs him he'll bury the thread in no time, and won't engage a topic deeply most of the time.
A pilot fish accompanies a shark, and helps keep bothersome parasites off in return for protection;similarly you seem to post in close proximity to,and seem to be a quite sympatico DM acolyte.

If a strain of virus was let loose like in the 10 Commandments Movie and only
took out Republicans and their base loyalists core

I wouldnt give a shit as they are nothing but racist hicks who are an
embarrasement to the human race

Look at BCTTWR and Reaminators comments .... like they just got out of a
KKK meeting

If Beck told Brucefan to kill cats because they are Marxists .... he would kill
cats

If Limbaugh told Munchkin to kill dogs because they are Socialists ... he would kill dogs

If Hannity told BCTTWR and REAMINATOR to shoot blacks on site since they are terrorists ... BCTTWR would start loading up his shotgun

WHAT YOU SEE ON THIS BOARD AND ELSEWHERE ... THE BO OBAMA BASHERS ARE GULLIBLE SIMPLE MINDED FOLKS WHO VERIFY THAT GOEBBLES WAS CORRECT ABOUT UTTERING THE BIG LIE OVER AND OVER

Making an observation about how you seem to follow Doc's behind isn't censorship,it seems the 2 of you are becoming like a posting tag team;reply, comment,or do whatever you like,we still have our constitutional rights to do so,for now,so take advantage of them.

Who's the "king of cut and paste",and obsessive thread starter on the same topics, which muscle other opinions off the page by sheer volume? It surely's not me.
As for feeling lonely look at this post count:

Lets do some fun math 46,504 x just 3 minutes per post=139,512 total minutes divide by 20=6975.6 hours or 290.65 days, and counting spent posting on EOG.

Well i would like to reply in some of your threads but i cannot seem to find any you started. So what is the difference if i have the same dislike of Bush and express that compared to some of the sheep love i see from you and your crowd screaming socialism and selling fear?Maybe i should cut and paste some silly pictures of obama and a teleprompter to fit in your view, would that make you feel better?Obama has not been president long enough for me to get to the level of dislike for him that i have for Bush but it will come soon enough.

Barack in 3 months has destroyed 8 yrs of ROCK SOLID Bush accomplishments

Whoever is Barack's HR "professional" is a fuckin idiot

Barack fucked up .... this reaching out to bring on Republicans is a fuckin
nitemare

Why he kept Gates when Jim Webb was there for the taking is beyond me
and hiring Geithner is like Notre Dame shit canning Weiss and rehiring Faust

He should have told Hilliary to piss off ..... had Richardson get his shit together and cleared up that one issue that was not good as Billy boy is a hellva lot more qualified to be SOS

The GOP has shown one thing: fuck the Dems and BO trying to be a nice guy and reach out was a horrible move .....

The only GOPer I like was Hagel because he wouldn't take shit off Rice ...

A deaf, dumb, blind person could have done a better job than Bush. I cannot stand the way government is breathing over us and spending money like their is no tomorrow.I want a country were we can decide things for ourselves without having big brother deciding for us and adding more laws .
Obama did try to include the GOP but Rush and Fox would not let them play unless it fit their agenda or was my way or the highway that they had under Bush.
