I stumbled upon the RX April 2011. I had been betting online for many years prior but never even knew these forums existed. From what I have read over the lsat year I missed the great times.

The reason I discovered RX is I had been burned by a scam/tout by the name of David Banks and tiredoflosing....After that debacle I founf rx and eog and the rest and began my illustrious posting career.

Its difficult to pick up all the history and back story to all the conflicts and fueds amongst posters but it makes for interestig reading.

These forums are a great outlet and I hope they can pick up some of their past glory if and when online becomes accpeted in the US

Found askthebookie.com around 2001. Slowly found dozens of other sites after that. I can't get enough now.

Wasn't 2001 around the time a bunch of guys from ATB threw in on a horse together that was later discovered to be a scam?

Re: How and When Did you Discover the Forums?

Started posting on gambling forums back in 2009. I was having an issue with a sportsbook.

Oh, and I thought Chocolate Candy was going to win the Derby, and I wanted to tell the whole world. :lol

Ya I think that was around that time. They were selling shares of a horse or a couple of horses (can't remember the exact details) and it was all smoke and mirrors. I think that BigLou's brother Action was doing some shady stuff with it and offshore books. Plus he was running some bullshit capping sites.

Isn't BigLou still running the place? I think there are probably 5 guys that post over there now. Haven't been there in years.

Re: How and When Did you Discover the Forums?

Anybody remember the rec.gambling.sports newsgroup? Anybody remember "H-Capper," the guy who thought everything revolved around him?

Started posting there in 1997. Only lurked at the forums till 2008, then only posted (under another handle) for a small syndicate in the MLB sub-forum for a few months. Only lurked again till last year. Yet to post pics, but that may change soon.

1997...

...no shit. The big forum was Bookie's Hell in Bettors World; run by a coupla Nazi dick-heads who modified your posts and read your PMs, starting a trend found in most of the forums these days.

2006-2007,Right around the time that dickhead Frist tried to sneak his antigambling crap into a port bill late one night and he actually ended up succeeding but in the long run his political career sort of hit the skids which is exactly what he deserves because passing that bill didn't do jackshit for him anyway.

1997 was being stiffed by the wizard off odds, asked the people at Bowmans if they knew these guys, they told me to file a complaint at Bettorsworld

Re: How and When Did you Discover the Forums?

I heard Fezzik on the radio (think it was with JK, but not sure), and Fezzik's Place got mentioned. Drifted over here after LVASports went pay-per-view, and BeyondCapping went down the tubes.

Really enjoy the forums; it's fun to see what other gamblers are talking about each day. It's fun posting the occasional pick, too.

Re: How and When Did you Discover the Forums?

I'm a relative newcomer to the forum world.

I was aware of SBR and The Rx but never seriously thought to visit or contribute.

In the summer of 2009, Ken Weitzner called me to write twice-weekly blogs and host a weekly podcast.

My career went downhill from there.

JK, I'd never have had admitted this...

Better would have been, "I war part of KR's gnarly crew wot took over th' good ship EOG, yar...had Blondie walk the plank...& shot Tuckerman in th' privates"

Re: How and When Did you Discover the Forums?

The first forum I visited was Bettorsworld back around the years '98 or '99. From there, I was introduced to The Shrink and TheRx where I spent the next 10 years of my forumville experience only seldomly visiting its would-be rival and competitor, Eye on Gambling. I have since been more closely involved with EOG and was appointed general coordinator and overseer on or about October of 2011.

I look forward to working with each of you* to help improve the community and create a more welcoming, less hostile environment, where posters of all walks of life can feel free to express themselves without the fear of an instant ambush or personal attack.

I also look forward to working with our sponsors to provide special benefits to our member base.
*Honorable mentions go out to for Joeybagodonuts, and BigChickHouse. :lol
