How is your weekend without Sporting Events?

I am finding myself losing track of what time it is. I usually have specific structured routines with my gambling process and since I don’t work on Fridays yesterday kind of got away from me.

I haven't made a sports bet in over a month. Been too busy following the financial markets.

I was looking forward to getting back with the NCAA and MLB season win totals, but honestly, I haven't missed it one bit and have enjoyed the break.

I likely will take a look at the Gulfstream and Oaklawn entries for today. Should be decent cards.

Visited the USS Lexington yesterday.
Was betting very little in the way of sports anyway and continue to bet racing.

They were kicking and screaming like a spoiled brat, right up until midnight last night. Government basically said, close or we will get law enforcement to speed up the process.

Didnt hear anything about that happening here in the Cleveland area with the Casinos but almost everything is closed and Casino were last to close. If you left them open the casinos would have been packed today as people are beginning to go stir crazy

It's so strange not logging into DB and capping games, I almost feel like I'm living in a movie called "A world without sports", the whole thing feels surreal

Fuking sucks. I`ve started getting emails from books pushing their casino. Please don`t let me fall back into that trap. Poker game at American Legion tonight. Taking it day by day.

Mine is a bit "soccery!'
Might load up on sanitizer if I could find it and head to the AC poker rooms for a few days to clear my head.

I'm always getting ready for the next NFL season at this time of year, doing deep research that I don't have time to do on the fly in season.

But with the recent financial market volatility, I'm in a similar mode as Valuist, monitoring the markets and working on my shopping list looking for long term value at fire-sale prices.

I do enjoy watching sports generally, including especially now hockey with the Knights in town. But I watch so much of it during the NFL season that by, necessity, I already have to prioritize other things, such as ramping my workouts fully back up, above sitting in front of a TV watching more sports during the offseason.

Like I say, I enjoy watching sports, but I only bet the NFL, and if I'm not watching a sport for betting purposes, I just have other things to do rather than increasing the amount of time that I'm sedentary (on top of work and financial and sports betting research).

This whole situation with the near-total suspension of sports, and thus betting, does suck. But it is if not an opportunity at least an occasion to focus on other things that also have, as the expression goes, positive EV.

If ESPN has nothing but 30 for 30 and CBB classic reruns to air, why not get Deportes to at the very least cover International soccer and basketball?

TYVM Morgan William!!!
I have some stuff on DVR I have yet to see so now I will. As Jimmy and others have pointed out ESPN showing some 30-for-30 also merits a look to see if there are any I have not seen yet

I also have several 30/30's taped that I haven't watched, I guess now seems like a good time to watch them. It's strange since the Boston Celtics are my all time favorite sports team, but the 30/30 about them the Lakers is something In haven't seen, it's a 3 part doc and came out a few years ago, not sure why I haven't gotten around to seeing it, but it's somethnig I definitely plan on watching, I know you're on the other end of the rivalry, don't know if you've seen it yet, but it promises to be excellent

I would have to think racing has its biggest handle day of the year so far. No competition; some good stakes, even with bad weather at Oaklawn.

forgot to add if you're at all interested in that sort of thing the USS Lexington visit is well worth the $17 admission...I'll be back for a 2nd visit

Kane-I thought they did an excellent job with the recent Vick 30 for 30 if you haven't watched it yet. Recently watched the Chuck Liddell/Tito Ortiz 30 for 30 and loved it also

The best thing any of us can do is get on our feet and do some exercise.
Get your blood moving.

We’re looking at a month of downtown or more so there’s no excuse.
Don’t be like Dink and just do jigsaw puzzles all day.

I almost never play the horses but leaving now to meet the guys at the bar for OTB-If anybody has any tips for today’s card it would be much appreciated

I did see the one on Vick, it was really good, fuck him though, I can never forgive him for what he did to those dogs. I didn't see the other one, I have no interest in MMA or UFC

Great call on Miracles and Men- it was fascinating to see the other side of the story that was never told

What are your fave 30 for 30’s
Mine:
The U
SMU
BO Jackson
The 2 Escobars

My man! That's what I'm talking about Heisey, it's all about the U. Seriously though, the docs about the U are my favorite because I lived them out in real time, all the highlights, all the fights, all the championships, everything that happened during those glorious years I lived it all as it was happening. I'll come up with a list of my favorites, but there are so many that I would need to see a list. One that immediately comes to mind was the one about Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic

Watching some of ESPN's "30 for 30's" here in Costa Rica.

Great way to work on my Spanish.

The channel is English-speaking but features Spanish subtitles.

I watched the Janet Guthrie documentary titled "Qualified."

Excellent journalism with some creative titles.

Guthrie turned 82 earlier this month.

I enjoyed watching the late Chet Coppock, then a young sportscaster in Indianapolis, featured in some of the old clips.

Some of ESPN's best work.

Talk about a deep dive.

And the promotion of the documentaries is second-to-none.

ESPN also airs shorter docs, ones that are an hour long, and those are great as well. I saw one the other day about a junior Canadian hockey team from a small town in Saskatchawan (I'm sure I bungled that) who's bus crashed and something like 15 players were killed, all 18-20 years old, very emotional, but very well done
