How much is it worth to have the last bat in MLB?

Playoffs will be at neutral sites so the only real value is the last at bat / winning value of 10% maybe 20% ???

None really, it's not like other sports where you manage a clock and get an edge from knowing what you need to score. Mostly impacts bullpen usage by managers but that's really not an empirical edge, just a perceived one. Sort of like why does a closer only pitch with a lead in a late inning when he might be of more value in the 6th inning when the opponent is threatening.

And how much is "scoring first" more beneficial than last at-bat?

What's more, in today's all-or-nothing hitting approach where most hitters feature an uppercut swing, it's hard to watch teams playing for a run in a critical situation.

No such thing as bat control or productive outs in today's game.

One note: The queer rule putting a runner on second in extra innings will NOT be used in the postseason.

The first round being 3 games adds a factor. Cleveland went with a bullpen game last night to set up Bieber and Plesac for the playoffs.

Will anybody go a bullpen game route thinking they have a better chance to win that way than going with a starter?

Brewers did it few years ago and almost got to the Series doing it.

Right now they would play the White Sox in the first round - an awful matchup for the Sox.
