if a qb declined to attempt to tackle a defender on a turnover he wouldnt go back on field. Ditka would have benched bridgewater on the spot, and his teammates would be disgusted, but Fangio is a libtard and todays kids are soft. Bridgewater also refuses to back up 2 or 3 steps when dline is bull rushing, horrendous pocket awareness.

If that's my teammate I'm getting in his face for not even making any effort

Or LeBron James hiding in the deep left corner as his Cleveland team suffered an NBA playoff loss.

The year was 2010 and the Celtics were the opponent.

And the Cavs were the #1 seed in the East that season.

Speaking of QB play......Your Darnold predictions are aging well...

You can be excused for sucking, you can be excused for careless mistakes, you can be excused for forgetting the down. You cant be excused for standing there and watching a guy run by you 2 ft away and not even attempting to slow him down, Teddy will lose the team if he ever had it.

So you guys are okay with the quarterback sliding to prevent from get'n hit and hurt, too???

I know this circumstance sorta called for him to try "harder"...

Key word.

1st QTR 2nd down and 5 slides a yard short of the 1st to avoid a hit. Totally OK

Game winning drive, 4th and 5 to go and the QB slides a yard short when he could have easily gotten there. Not OK

depends on the coach. can't remember what team, in the '70's a qb tried to make a play and got injured, out for the year.

the next year the coach instructed him to run to the sidelines.

they wear red jerseys for a reason, you play as you practice.

Except he's not tom brady and the player running was no bigger than Teddy.

As Herm Edwards once said...you play to win the game.
