Patricia was a joke, he will never be a head coach in this league again. Quinn may never be a GM in this league again either. Lions should have known what was to come with Patricia when his previous game when the Pats gave up 41 to the Eagles in the Super Bowl. I hope the Lions don't screw up the next GM hire, etc.

I appreciate the Big Buck now that I have seen the alternatives. He did have Barry Sanders. But all these other coaches had Stafford and some of them had Magatron.

I have not seen one Ex Lion Player give support to Patricia on twitter. Everyone from Slay to Orlovsky killing him. That's pretty rare. Lions will be one of the least desirable jobs this coming cycle. 3 years ago, they were one of the most desired places, as Caldwell left a decent situation. Houston clearly #1 with a young, stud Franchise QB already in place. Jets will get Trevor. Jax will get Fields. Lions have a recently fragile Stafford on the decline making big $$$$, and won't even earn a top 5 draft pick for their sucking.

Lions a good spot for somebody that doesn't want high expectations and a weak, docile ownership. Where is Billy Ford Junior? Will be able to follow your own plan and have a lot of time. Taxans, better foundation but more pressure to produce. Any coach that wins a playoff game for the Lions will have their ass crowned like the Big Buck! He is the only one to do it since 1957.

I think he gets a head coaching job at some point. Plenty of experience as a successful OC and RB coach, but as a player he spent a lot of time on special teams, returning punts and kicks. Special teams often are overlooked. For the same reason I think Jim Leonhard at Wisconsin will become a successful head coach and I wouldn’t be surprised if he moves up the ladder to the NFL eventually.

How about Mike Ditka? He wasn’t a coordinator. He coached special teams for a number of years for the Cowboys. Among recent hires, Joe Judge also fits.
For MLB? Catchers make the best managers as they are everyday players/hitters who have a much better understanding of pitching staffs than do other position players.

I wish I could find the clip on youtube, on the Thanksgiving game, they showed a clip of how Matt Patricia has aged during his time between New England, when he started with Detroit and when he was done w/ Detroit. It was hilarious and sad at the same time.
